I see Cort's that catch my eye rather frequently and the following happens:

Me: Oooo... that looks sweet. I might need to buy that.
Other Me: Really? It's not a name brand...
Me: Really. Who cares about the name. Same factory as so many other cool guitars...
Other Me: Sure, I know that and you, well me, we, we know that...
Me: I know, I know, but no one else does...
Other Me: yep, then ya know what will happen.
Me: Yep, we'll, well, I'll get stuck with it.
Other Me: Yeah. You know the rule...
Me: I know, I know, don't buy anything we, I mean, I, can't resell if need be...
Other Me: "If need be?" Who do you think you're lying to here? "When!" the word is "When!" as in "when you, well, we, try to sell."
Me: You really suck ya know that...
Other Me: We. We, well, I, I really suck... man, this is confusing... where did you, I mean we- I! Where did I put the number for that therapist?
Myself: Would y'all shut up, I'm trying to decide what we, well I, need to sell to buy that Cort.
I: Oooo look! Another Mesa Amp!

Haha but its true, especially up here in Quebec you cant sell anything at a decent price if it dont say Fender or Gibson ...

Same here but add in a few more name brands like Ibanez and such - but even weirder is the market here has a LOT of "custom" guitars for sale. I.e. a kit guitar or homemade build done by some bored local who then thinks the kit and/or build is worth their time, money, effort. When, in reality, it's worth the sum of the parts and that's only IF they find a buyer who wants those particular parts.

Those McCarty 594s are an even shorter scale length than a Les Paul or SG. :idk
Just burley, a smidgen, even.

But the true innovator, measured a real 58 or 59, and that's what it was - so damnit, that must be the scale of historic vintage awesomeness, amirite?

5/32, which I can't see making any discernible difference in feel. I'd imagine you'd get that variation from setting your saddles for intonation.
I mean, to what exact point on the guitar is the scale length measured to?

The scale length is actually 1/32" LONGER than modern Gibson. This confusion comes about due to the way Gibson measures and reports scale length.

To measure the scale length of a guitar, one will generally measure from the inside of the nut to the center of the 12th fret and multiply that .

Gibson however, measure from the inside of the nut to where the low E string breaks over the saddle. This exaggerates the scale length due to the compensation required for proper intonation

:idk

Maybe @Eagle can confirm ?

However you measure it/use the reported measurements, my point is we're talking minuscule amounts of differences, on the order of a half a percent. Could you tell if a song is being played a half a percent faster, or if your guitar was tuned a half a percent sharp?
That's what I'm saying.

Now the difference between Strat and LP scale... a Strat is 3% longer. Still small amounts, but they're getting into the realm of where you can tell a difference.

That scale difference is pretty close to the difference you'd feel in tuning your guitar up/down a half step. I doubt very highly if anyone could tell the difference between the scale of a PRS 594 and a LP, because they're so close to being the same.
