Got an incoming new (to me) Yamaha Revstar RSS20.

I currently have a Gibson LP Special in TV Yellow, and a beat up old Fender Strat so was after something with double humbuckers to complete the collection and this seemed a good choice at the price (well under £500 with a discussed setup to my preferences).

Can't wait for it to arrive tomorrow, have heard good things about these though I haven't played one there are no local spots carrying any.

Sweet!!

That IS a pretty cool take on the sunburst thing, I dig it.

I finally played a Revstar this past weekend at GC, there was a sparkle green one that caught my eye and since I've yet to see one in person I took the chance to play it for a bit, I dug it! Neck was comfy and it felt good to hold in the hands, cool guitars for sure.

Thanks all. Arrived this morning but it has been a bit thrown about in transit. Box was battered and there's some nasty scrapes on the back and a dent in the top side.

Took some pictures and sent to the shop who have given me a £45 refund which feels fair, the damage all where you can't see it when playing fortunately.

They did say it was pretty much mint at the store so it's a shame.

Have to say though it's lovely to play, I really like the neck and it sounds nice and snappy overall from a quick run through a super reverb on the Helix LT.

Plays a fair bit nicer than my Gibson to be honest.

@bucephalus Man, that is a bummer. I would have sent it back for that kind of damage, but so long as you're happy with the monetary compensation that's all that matters. Happy NGD!
Yeah, thanks man. If it had been new I would have done but as it's already second hand and I will be playing it regularly I thought that given I love how it feels and sounds I'd keep it.

Sucks to see something like this when it's definitely avoidable. The front looks pristine, and that's what mostly counts (if this helps).
It does and it is the main reason I decided to keep it once I had played it and found it to be really good to play.

Scratches on the back will polish out I think, and the ding means I'll be less precious about it going forward.

They are relatively easy to make 99% better. Just polishing the back with cutting polish will largely make the scratches not really noticeable and a super glue fix on the dent.
