Waiting For Helix Stadium?

Sold my QC & am now waiting for the Floor (non-XL) to drop.

Why?

- great UI
- profiling
- good I/O (SPDIF included which the QC shamefully missed)
- new amp tech (current one already sounds good)
- Showcase
- Line6's track record across the years and @Digital Igloo's involvement in the community, their willingness to listen, talk through user requests & deliver.
- pitch shifting tech (the Poly Capo in the Helix is the best thing I've tried)

Me. I've already sold a FM3 which I was otherwise very happy with.

I have high hopes for the HXS. If it were a smaller Helix floor with more DSP alone that'd be reason enough for me to change, but the amount of features Line 6 announced for these devices is just incredible. And I really miss the Helix workflow overall, which is IMHO still best in market today.

I guess I’ll add mine. I had earmarked an FM9 for late summer or fall but ended up pre-ordering HSX.

Over the last 5 years with Helix, my needs have morphed a bit and Helix has struggled to keep up as of late, particularly when trying to accommodate some of my more niche/elaborate workflows where I’m using split paths with multiple amps and cpu hungry FX.

Seeing the added horsepower as well as the added flexibility of being able to control impedance curves pulled me back in pretty quick.

Had no purchases planned before Stadium because my gigging needs were mostly being met between my FM9 and my ToneMaster Pro (Helix has always been the centerpiece of my home studio and Stadium will ensure it stays that way).

I'm going to sell the FM9 and Tonemaster Pro closer to when the XL version actually drops.

Maybe wait until you get to try the XL yourself?

No need for me. I'm already wanting to shave it down to just one type of workflow rather than bouncing back and forth between the polar opposities of the TMP and FM9.

I have been using Native a ton at home, and I really like most of the HX amps as they are, so improvements will just be gravy.

I only ever departed from the Helix Floor for my gigging out hardware because I wanted more modded Marshall options and I also ran into DP limitations when I tried to do more esoteric/synth-y/crazy patches. I also really liked the relatively smaller form factors the FM9 and TMP.

The Marshall thing faded once they added the Bogner Ecstasy (my all-time favorite modded Marshall) and the Voltage original amp from Catalyst.

Stadium XL solves the rest of that and many, many other issues for me out of the box.

Keeping my Fractal gear, my Tube Amps, and will likely grab a Stadium.

Really impressed with the vibe and spirit of the L6 crew.... and there's my own curiousity.

I trust it will be more than excellent. :chef

This is exactly where I’m at as well. Love my Fractal units, but the idea of integrating a Stadium with my FM9T is compelling. And Eric and Co are indeed good people that I have no problem supporting, unlike some of their competitors.

just got the QC. ill wait on the stadium so i can buy it used for a decent price. im about to sell my LT for the same price i paid for it years ago with the backpack but im keeping the backpack hahaha.

I pre-ordered an XL, but then got an FM9 when Fractal had their summer sale. So canceled the XL pre order and will see how it goes once it launches.

When I bought my LT in part it was because it would take a while to scrape up the additional cash for the Axe FX-II I'd been eyeing and I didn't want to wait. for 7-8 years the LT left me feeling no need to "upgrade", but for the last number of months I was starting to think maybe it was time to consider trying something different. And then along came Stadium. So I can't say I was looking to imminently pull the trigger, and didn't have a particular device specifically in mind, but for reasons all my own Stadium was a no-brainer, and I suspect once it shows up in the fall it'll be years before I start thinking about changing.

I had a SOLID day of deliberation when I saw that sale. VERY narrowly opted to hang onto the XL preorder but definitely still paying attention to what Fractal is doing.

If you are interested in the Stadium I don't think there is any reason not to preorder one. You can return it easy enough if you don't get along with it and heck you could even sell it for profit as I imagine this thing will be backordered for some time (not that I'm promoting scalping).

Just saying there is very little risk in the stadium....assuming you had the cash you wanted to spend in the first place

I preordered on day 1, just deliberating whether I want to slide over to Fractal as I’m not using Native much for guitars.

Can't go wrong with fractal either (obviously). I just also like knowing with the HXS you are good for a good while before the next gen. Can't say the same doe the fractal. Although the FM9 will still be killer even when Gen IV comes out
