I know and I was there lol, killed that big ass mosquito and saved the asshole who didn’t wanna be saved, then it just went downward into the pits. I gotta get back in there

Honestly I had to look up some boss fight videos to figure out how to beat some of them, but I wish I hadn't in retrospect. It's part of the fun/challenge early on.

Here's some newbie tips if you're interested, I'll hide in a spoiler tag but they aren't true spoilers at all.

Take your time to explore everything. If you rush through you may not catch some little detail and then you'll feel stuck.

Buy the map, compass, and quill. I've watched so many playthroughs where people just blindly wander around for hours getting lost and not paying attention to where they have and have not explored.

Don't forget to use your spells. Way too many newbies only use the nail and that's going to make it a lot more difficult.

Remember it's a Metroidvania when you are stuck early on...

Silksong is amazing. I already beat around 3 or 4 bosses. Opened about 7 or 8 areas. The difficulty is ramping up a bit and currently have my way blocked at two separate points by tricky bosses.

I'll beat them tomorrow.

I've just been sitting on a bench, getting up, up through two screens, fight the hornet, die immediately. Rinse repeat for an hour. On the verge of rage uninstalling 🤣
You gotta figure out her rhythm and movements, and keep your distance! You can’t aggro her, she took me like 13 tries lol. Be patient, wait til she jump dives at you, strike then jump away - repeat

So… Silksong is on Game Pass. That makes the decision a whole lot easier LOL.
I would be more excited if I could curl up on the couch with the Xbox in my face (which I understand there are ways to stream and everything but still, I don’t have a handheld streaming device for that). I’ve been throwing in my AirPods and getting lost in HK lol

I just bought Silksong on Switch 2. Never played Hollow Knight, but all the hype made me curious!

I'm very interested to see what you think. I'm having the Dark Souls effect here. The sequel doesn't seem near as hard, and I'm breezing through early sections, but I know that's probably only because I got good on Hollow Knight.

I'm sure it's going to be harder for a first-timer.

The downward attack is weird and I don't really like the way it feels

Hopefully you can unlock something later to change the way it works

Otherwise game is awesome so far

I read on reddit that it does get an upgrade down the line and you aren't stuck with it!

There's a charm that gives you the traditional downward attack. But apparently once you get the skill that gets you float it gets easier anyway.

It was cheap enough to be an impulse buy! I beat the first boss which was suuuuper easy and just got to the marrow. I guess the difficulty will ramp up soon.
