Yeah I was rolling around in the MULE version not realizing you get a much better one as you progress the story 😂
I did that as well!

The Tri-Cruiser is still pretty good since it's much faster, fits easier through tight spots, allows you to pick up chiral crystals without getting out. Just need to be able to carry more stuff yourself, and be a bit more careful about what you bring and grab. The Pickup offloader just lets you basically loot everything around you and its only drawback is that it's large and slower.

Yas! Lies of P is one of the free games on PS Plus next month.
Have to laugh, because I finished it on Game Pass (since removed), and then bought it about a month ago so I could play it again on PS5, along with the Overture DLC. I really have to work on my timing LOL.

I was actually just visiting this thread to comment on Overture, since I did my usual "play it for 15 minutes and pan it in a 'first impressions' review" routine, and have since changed my mind 180 degrees.

It feels almost sacrilegious to be saying this in a world where Demon's Souls exists :D but I think Lies of P has become my favorite game of all time. And the Overture DLC went from feeling a bit routine, to completely blowing my mind. Everything about the game impresses me: the mechanics feel right, the upgrade systems (especially the fun weapons mods) complement one another perfectly, the story elements are lean enough to keep you playing, but clear enough to keep you engaged - sometimes even moved. The whole theme of exposure to music, and the arts, and sheer human misery making your character more "real" is expertly handled... and the actual music, acting, etc. used to those ends is just lovely.

I finished the DLC, and then finished the main game for a second time, and by then I was so addicted I started a new build and ran through about 2/3 of the game again. (At which point I realized that Advance builds aren't as easy as they at first may seem. All of the builds are well-balanced such that you're going to run into trouble sooner or later.)

tl;dr - I can't wait for the next game from these guys.

Don't think I'll get around to Lies of P for a few months. I've Metroid and Ninja garden right now. Borderlands 4 next month. Battlefield 6 the month after.

You can pick up Chiral Crystals with the off-loader as well, but either it’s bugged or stops working once you have too much cargo. I haven’t been on the TriCruiser since getting to Australia, especially once you can start adding battery packs and anti-gravity gadgets to them, you can haul a little more ass without being quite as delicate.

This looks pretty damn good.

This could go either way. I just checked THQ Nordic's games list to try to get a better sense. Looks like they own the Gothic and Risen IP now, but I don't think they actually developed either of them. I loved those games (way back when).

As dumb as the game might be I've probably got well over 50 hours into Power Wash Simulator :rofl

It's pure soothing dopamine.

Is anyone here playing Wu-Chang Fallen Feathers? Yet another "free on Game Pass" soulslike, and yet again (as with Lies of P early on), I just can't seem to get my bearings with it.

Everything feels needlessly over-complicated, poorly introduced/ explained, and little UI details exacerbate all of this. Tiny fonts, descriptive text for new skills relegated to a tiny corner of an otherwise nearly blank screen, and thus f***ing scrolling faster than you can read them... Large text saying "Item Detail" to no one's benefit in the middle of the inventory screen, with smaller text off to the side to actually tell you what item you're looking at... A HUD that optionally displays a ton of info you don't need, or auto-hides your health of all things. All of these little details just taking nibbles out of your good will. Death by a thousand cuts. (Oh, and how could I forget: a key combat mechanic reliant on the L3 analog stick press - an ergonomics nightmare that I only perform by accident... and also, all the goddamned time.)

But... but... but maybe there's a good game hidden in this mess? The environments are certainly pretty enough. I want to enjoy it, but grr. Any opinions? Am I wasting my time or should I power through?

I played like 4ish hours in to it but haven't been back on it since (can't seem to quit Nightreign)

I was enjoying it though

I will say the whole skill tree/leveling system was/is confusing

I feel like there had to have been a better way to implement it

You need the climbing gloves for that afaik.

Ahhhhhh that’d make sense! I hadn’t figured out why it worked much of the time and then not, but I almost always have a full Off Roader so I just assumed it was that.
