Got an Orange ppc 212 closed back yesterday. gc used came through, great price and it was decently packed.

It rips. I really like it. I have an orange 4x12 but it's a pre ppc one w t75s which I like but I think I like the v30 a little more or it's just honeymoon stage lol.

Still deciding if I like stacking them vertically or horizontally more. The wideness of horizontal is cool but getting speakers more ear level is nice too even though it seems way louder. Probably won't bring both to shows but I might bring the 212 when I know I'd be using someone else's 412. It's pretty easy to carry compared the 412.

So yea... orange makes really good cabs lol

Congrats! Those cabs are awesome.

I’ve been looking at the 2x12 rectifier cabs to pair up with my Mesa stuff but the orange cabs are tempting too. I’ve heard there’s an increased top end rolloff due to the grille cloth they use. Curious if anyone has observed that.

Congrats orange cabs are beast mode

It’s been many years since I’ve had a V30, loved them in my old Mesa trad 4x12 but that was a long time ago, and I’ve disliked every v30 IR I’ve tried any time recently. But I don’t know if that’s a fair way to make a judgement call

Still probably better than t75s for me personally. I really don’t care for those speakers at all

Congrats!!!

Yea i def agree that Mesa makes really good cabs too. They might be best tbh. Orange has a vibe though

Just saw someone on fb trying to trade their orange super crush and ppc 212. I offered one of my 7s that I'm not using. So that might be happening which would be really cool.

I have three V30 variations:

2011 Vintage 30 China.
2023 Vintage 30 China.
2024 Marshall Vintage UK.

All sound vastly different, so much so I can't say the Vintage 30 has "a sound" too random to have a characteristic sound.

@sleewell you lucked on a good batch so treasure it, next V30 you play/purchase may not be so good sounding.

These have been my two most used 2 X 12” Celestion Vintage 30 cabinets for years🤘

thats super cool that youre diggin em- i've have a pretty traditional antipathy for em- but a coupla years back a buddy of mine loaned me a 412 for a short tour and recording with a mix of h30s and v30s, and yknow.. i got it in that combo- supremely fun and full bore rock. i can't do em solo meself most times cause they just resist cleaning up on the volume knob, and i genuinely think theyre better suited to guys who play single note biz and gainier tones (which is categorically NOT me- im a slob, and they just show my ass consistently)- but whatevs makes it fun to play!

These are the facts I learned the hard way but now the data is out there for proof

I got two Vintage 30s new from Mojotone, and they are apparently made in England now. I like them quite a bit with two G12H-30 70th Anniversary speakers in an X pattern.
