No doubt I think we all wish it was cheaper to buy a fractal unit in Europe. I think we can all admit the current price point is not feasible for many and thus a big component as to why someone may opt for another product

I don't think OP did anything wrong by voicing their concern about the price difference via email. Obviously fractal is aware of it but I think we all have the right to voice a concern or complaint as long as it is in a respectful manner. Also, if this Shopify is truly to help with costs in Europe, they realize it's an issue.

It can also be true that fractals reply to the OP was not the greatest (assuming what OP posted is legit, personally I'm surprised they gave any estimate of units sold, no matter how vague as Cliff is usually very private with sale numbers). They simply could have acknowledged the concern and stated they understood the frustration and are always looking for ways to make their products more readily available. There was no need to say "we sell thousands of units, therefore this isn't an issue".

I don't judge the business or the persons, etc ...
I just post some facts about prices on an item because that's the subject of the thread so i thought it could be interresting for those who are not living in France (or Europe in general ?) to know what we (customers) have to pay for an FM9 here.
For example, in France, like 6 months ago (before Stadium announcement) there was something like 700 euros difference between an Helix Floor and a FM9 ... that's not nothing when you have to make that kind of purchase.

We all know. We also know that there are a lot of French products we either pay a lot more for or simply can't buy in the US. You know why? It costs a lot more for a French business to sell to Americans than it does to sell to people in France or the EU. Funny how that works both ways.

There should'nt be any second guessing ? My point was'nt to deny Fractal, my point was to share the fact that comparing prices between Line6 and Fractal is not the same reality in US or in Europe.

Have you even considered the possibility that FRACTAL sells the units for the same price, and that it costs more to consumers in Europe because there is a lot more work and cost involved in getting the product to you in Europe than there is in setting it on a loading dock for UPS to pickup and deliver directly to an American customer with no middle man, no customs, no taxes, no warehousing, no inventory etc.

Have you also considered that Fractal can't build a million FM9's every month? They are a small business with limited production. They sell everything they are able to make. To make more units would cost them more in one way or another so they don't want to. Why should they spend more of their money so they can sell you a cheaper FM9? That's not ethical, that's stupid.

The question is more focused on G66 and the exagerated margin applied... to then reply that seems to indicate that there´s no need in getting a more optimal distribution styrategy because people pay anyway. Assuming Fractal doesn't want to take a price cut, please explain what the non-greedy but still profitable enough to be worth their time distributor markup should be. The distributor has costs and risks, and they have other ways to spend their resources and time, so make sure you factor that into your calculation of the proper markup.

Or maybe consider you don't have a fucking clue about what it takes to distribute products internationally and you just feel entitled to pay less just because.

FWIW, Tefun's observation supports the overall response to the OP up to that point: that the flagship Line 6 products remain more affordable than FAS for a lot of customers.

I'm not saying FAS owes it to anyone to lower their prices, let alone tackle international trade policies they can't control... I'm just sayin'.
