They are both are such different vibes but super purposeful in their own waysVery much the honeymoon phase with only 48 hours in but I think this beats my Mark V for me/my playing style etc etc. Mark is fucking sick still and we'll see what time does. The gain is very guttural in a pissed off and offensive way.
I'd be interested to see your take on the 90 watt Mk vs a 100 watt Rectifier.I’ve sort of described their differences as something like:Very much the honeymoon phase with only 48 hours in but I think this beats my Mark V for me/my playing style etc etc. Mark is fucking sick still and we'll see what time does. Unless I win the lottery I just spent my entire 2026 gear budget in the first 7 days of the year lmao - I think the 90 watt will be my next amp though - way too many "what ifs" and I won't rest until I can play them both lol (35w vs 90w). I'm also gas'ing for a mw 100w though for the same reasonsThey are both are such different vibes but super purposeful in their own waysI'd be interested to see your take on the 90 watt Mk vs a 100 watt Rectifier.

my wife asked me why I need a Mesa if I already had a Mesa lmao
Funny enough, when I bought my 90w from the guy, he was selling it because he preferred the voicing of the 35w35w vs 90w

I did spend a lot of time on the clean channelGosh I loved my Tremoverb. It was the main amp in my studio and I used it for about a decade, maybe a little longer. Then I gave it to my son, who used it in both his high school and college punk bands. It was basically the Dual Rec with some added bells and whistles.
Thing is, I was never a high gain player. But it sounded absolutely fantastic for just about any style of music! So it didn't matter what the clients asked for; if they wanted high gain, I could do that (or hire someone who did it better). If they wanted roots, blues or country clean, no problem. The amp did it all.
I feel that way about the Mark VII, though of course it's different. But I'm still tempted by the reissue '90s Rec because of that Tremoverb. I'd love to recapture some of the magic of that amp.
The MW DR clean is the lonestar clean if that floats your boatI did spend a lot of time on the clean channel
and it’s superb![]()
90s reissue is not going to do the Tremoverb thing. It's a somewhat different circuit (Rev F vs the Tverb is Rev G-ish) The Tverb magic is that it has a much wider range of usable gain - sorry, I don't know the circuit differences - compared to a Rev F or G Dual Rec, with overall lower in the preamp, but still basically way more than you can use. The best way to describe it is that on the Tverb, or at least the head I had compared to the other Duals I owned, the Gain at almost 2 o'clock is about 9:30 on a Dual on Orange Hi or Red Modern. So that gives you a LOT more room to dial in tones given how sensitive the Recto is to that initial Gain level. That's where you can get those crushing-but-not-saturated rhythm sounds the Tverb does and the really warm, grainy cleans that still shimmer up top (Tragically Hip tones for Canadians lol.)Gosh I loved my Tremoverb. YES! That looks awesome. Super nice job especially for your first time doing it. I had a purple light for a while too on my old recto. You have great taste.Black knobs have been ordered from Mesa. That’s a purple light, idk why it always looks blue in pics

Also the reissue has the Rev F voicing which is tighter and more cutting in a way you can't dial out and doesn't have quite the huge harmonic spread that make Rectos such awesome tools in a mix. The Rev G circuit is better imho it's just less 'immediate gratification' for modern metal chugging.
God damn I miss that amp now.

I have 14 chrome knurled knobs I can mail youI think you just saved me a lot of money!
The thing I liked about the Fillmore's lead modes was they reminded me a little bit of my old Tremoverb. So much so that I decided to order it in black leather with a black grille and white piping, just to get that vibe.
I know. It's goofy. But...that's me. Needs the knurled chrome knobs anyway to have that Tremoverb look, and I'm far too lazy to change 'em out. So this very small attempt at similarity is about all the Tremo memories I've got, except some very old ads done over the years for Pontiac, Chevy and Cadillac and some random Chrysler and Ford stuff done back in the day. I don't even remember where I put the open reel tapes.

You're incredible! That's an amazingly generous offer! I may seriously be too lazy to actually install them, though, and they'd go to waste. Let me figure it out for a day or two and get a plan together in my head.I have 14 chrome knurled knobs I can mail youPM me your address!
