As mentioned, I prefer Crunch on the VII, as well as it having the IIB, which the V doesn't have. For those that have tried both the V and the VII, and prefer the V, is it mostly because of the available modes/features? Or is it the sound as well?

I didn’t realize the VII also had them removed. I saw the video where he said it was removed on the JP2C, and he attributed that removal to the “better” tone - and added that the 25 and 35s likely sound so good because of the same reasonAs mentioned, I prefer Crunch on the VII, as well as it having the IIB, which the V doesn't have.
Also, some say, including Randall and Doug, that the VII has a more immediate feel/punch with the Solo and Global volumes removed?![]()
So, these 4 screws, then?if that were me I’d probably try removing the grille and reinstalling it, paying attention to that piping/push it in as you reinstall the grille. I’m not sure messing with the faceplate will help much - you could also try pushing the piping in with a small tool?
Some of that can be bypassed on the V. I know @laxu has reported perceived improvements when doing so. I think we’re really splitting hairs but there definitely was an effort to reduce complex relay and switching circuitry in the VII whereas the V is pretty much the opposite.I didn’t realize the VII also had them removed. On the V it's marginal. Try this:Some of that can be bypassed on the V. I know @laxu has reported perceived improvements when doing so. Yeah the piping is glued to the grille. I replaced mine with a wicker grille! So, these 4 screws, then?

I take it the piping is glued to the grille itself, and not the chassis that surrounds it?
(I think pushing the piping in with the faceplate as is will only make matters worse. In fact, it looks like someone already tried.)
I use weird color amps like that "no one wants" as an easy way to throw out a lowball. That the seller probably won't takeThe more I look at it I like it more and less.
Idk why that blue Mark V wasn't quoted here, I was referencing that lol
I also like colors like where they think you are going to play some Christopher Cross but instead go for the Deicide
This is why I love my Strat so much - it looks like it could hang at a Christmas holiday party, but it really belongs at a metal concertI use weird color amps like that "no one wants" as an easy way to throw out a lowball. That the seller probably won't take![]()

Just ordered one, and I’m not even sure why. Like I said, bad influences LOL.You can add it to the V via EM Custom boxes.

I wish you could get different color front panels for amps easily. I think that would look great with a white or brown color front.
I'd actually like the panel to be traditional blackI wish you could get different color front panels for amps easily. I think that would look great with a white or brown color front.
