THE MOST IDEAL MUSIC

"Happy" (Pharrell Williams).
And maybe "Can't Stop The Feeling" (J. Timberlake).
Or some disco stuff. And yes, I'm serious.

In fact, there's hardly any music in groceries over here. Which sucks. So in case it's gonna be a longer event I'm trying to have my BT phones with me, nodding my head and getting strange looks. Be it so.
Aldis probably doesn't want to pay the ASCAP fees :hmm :hmm

There are playlists for retail, carefully selected for such occasions by pros:

Waiting to collect my coffee this morning, it was You Spin Me Right 'Round by Dead or Alive, Come On Eileen by Dexy's Midnight Runners and the start of Born in the USA by Springsteen. The people serving the coffee seemed to be in their 20's and groovin' away.

I love going to the Grocery Store. :love Because I know how blessed I am---and being
that Gratitude is on my list of Greatest Hits to be played everyday I just go in and
remember how lucky and fortunate I am to be able to hunt and gather with such ease
and aplomb---regardless of what's playing through the in-ceiling PA system. ::guiness

Seriously, though, I am grateful. I'm also often in awe that I can just turn a knob and clean, hot water flies out of my wall.

While it lasts, while it lasts....

Pt 2 though...people coming to your house

Spawn has it right. We just left “COVID etiquette” in place.

The fees (plus tip) are non-trivial and the produce etc are a little meh vs your own hand picked stuff, but OMG the time we save. Never going back to actual grocery shopping.

Pro tip for eggs (with the current state of things) if available in your area: Gopuff is the cheapest way to get eggs. A membership is $7 a month but with that membership you get the “fam discounts”

There’s always eggs available for $2 a carton, and I don’t mean the cheapest eggs possible. Cafe free, organic, etc

Discounts on various other stuff too. Quickly pays for itself for me. It’s not a catch all for all grocery shopping but there’s quite a few things you’ll save bundles on if you work it right

When I was going to the gym every day I’d hit the grocery store after because it was in the same parking lot and I shopped much smarter after getting my ass kicked at the gym, but the first time I went into the grocery store with headphones on I felt like I was in a different world.

Now that I’m a lazy fuck and don’t go to the gym I just keep my headphones in my car for the grocery store.

Dominos (sorry; shit pizza in the midwest alert) did the contactless delivery thing. Then they cancelled it but left it as an option in the app so you can think you won't be talking to anyone but somehow still have to

My credit card got hacked by using Delivery years ago. Never again.

I live across the Pacific, so YMMV.
I could see that leaving you with a lingering concern. But the reality is, this is a risk every time you use a card, just about anywhere.
