I bet it's real nice along the waterfront in Chicago right now
When I first came to Canada, the St. Lawrence Seaway blew my mind. I'd never heard of it. Amazing that you can sail a ship all the way down past Montreal, through the great lakes to Chicago; it's incredible.
Chicago! All that way inland! Wow.
4 degrees here in north GA with a dusting of snow, and the power went out about an hour ago. Thankfully, our fireplace works!
Absolutely!I was religious about that. Get done gigging at 2AM and often I would have an hour or 2 drive home in
a shitstorm of snow and ice in the winter, and I always brought my amps and guitars in no matter how
whooped I was. Cabs not so much.
We made it to Québec City. We got a hotel. Not our final destination, but that's enough driving in risky conditions for tonight. Bleh.
The drive was very touch and go at times... cars and trucks in the ditches everywhere, very poor visibility with high winds and all the precipitations: heavy snow, freezing rain, sleet, you name it. Going to sleep through the rest of it (hopefully) and continue in the morning.
Just remember.... Porn at the Hotel gets expensive. Fast!
Weird how the front has moved! Windchill pretty brutal too, especially 2500 feet up on a mountain. Just wish the power would stop dropping for 2 seconds every 20 minutes. It's warmer here and I am 1000 miles north of you. WTF?!
I just remembered to bring my cordless batteries inside, and put a trickle charger on my diesel truck. It was 55 yesterday; now it's 17. It snowed overnight, but turned to rain in the AM.I was religious about that. Get done gigging at 2AM and often I would have an hour or 2 drive home in
