Apparently, authentic “chili” is without beans.

So one of the tricks I found up with beans is to learn to use something acid like vinegar.

When I was young my dad made black bean Cuban soup and finish it with red wine vinegar

When I make refritos, there’s a big chunk of lard in there that is best offset with some acid. Lately I use jalapeño vinegar and fresh lime juice.

I was craving a burger all last week, most certainly because I cut out beef and pork a couple months back after experiencing wrist pain again. Grabbed some ground sirloin and ate 2 burgers on Sunday and one for dinner last night, now I don’t want red meat again ever. :rofl

Just a very plain, ketchup, mayo, onions and American cheese. Any time I get a burger somewhere down here it’s some ridiculous gourmet burger that has 90 ingredients, I just wanted a plain, boring burger. Though I dig mix up some Lipton Onion soup mix into some burger, made some caramelized onions, horseradish and swish cheese for a French Onion burger.

Now it’s grilled chicken tacos every night this week! Blackened tonight, jalapeño peach tomorrow and not sure what I’ll do thursday, I usually get stuck on the jalapeño peach for a couple days.

Any fail-proof Stovetop Popcorn directions? I tried making some the other night
and it was a bit tough. Been years since I made it on the Stovetop. Gonna have
to practice some more. :stirthepot

I think I need to let the oil (Coconut) heat up more before I add the corn. :idk

Did anyone not burn their Jiffypop? And why oh why baby Elvis was there so little actual Popcorn
when you were done? Remember trying to share one of those? Ugh!

I have been using the Whirley-pop stovetop popcorn popper ( https://www.whirleypopshop.com/products/whirley-pop-stovetop-popcorn-popper-original-silver-2 ) for 15+ years and love it! Nice small American company and they even sent me a new lid when the gear went bad on my lid.

As for the oil heating, yes, oil needs to be at high temp before you add the corn! And no, I have never burned jiffy pop, probably because I have never tried to make one!
