The Annual NAMM predictions rumours thread 2024

They already have two. The one they promised and the one they delivered.

I'm surprised that no one here (at least, I couldn't find it using the search function) is talking about the Endgame from KMA Machines. This seems like the ultimate pedal to have on a hybrid pedalboard with an almost infinite amount of use cases. If I wasn't already running an all-in-one solution I'd be all over that thing... Very likely a "jack of all trades" kinda device, but still.

For whatever's worth, the ToneJunkie guy doesn't quite have the... best track record on making predictions. Not sure why everyone taking him at face value on the subject.

For reference, some of his predictions for 2023 were:
  • Helix HD
  • Kemper Stage Jr.
  • Quad Cortex Marketplace
Then again, he was right about the ToneX pedal ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It doesn't take some market savant to come up with ideas like "more powerful Helix", "smaller, cheaper Kemper" and "paid features on the NDSP cloud functionality". Just throw it out there and if you get even one right you are forgiven.

Similarly "Dual Cortex" is baked right there in the name and something I assumed NDSP would want to do eventually, probably somewhere around the 1000 euro price point.

The fact that it is listed as a name under the NDSP trademarks is also pretty telling

Is this the power amp sim, IR loader, doubler that Kohle showcased on his channel? I’m definitely interested in that one.

I don't understand the desire for a Dual Cortex. The Quad Cortex itself isn't very powerful, despite vulgar claims to the contrary.
I basically used mine as a dual cortex anyway, since I didn't feel like there was anything to add to the presets that actually required the other half of the dsp. I could've split the signal and added 4 basic delays and six instances of a shitty reverb along with X amount of latency, but why would I want do that?

Could you post a video of you burning while fiddling with a knob?
Or maybe let's not?

(And the hits keep coming. :rofl)
I'm just making fun of the notion that a measure of a guitarist's skill is whether they fiddle with their own knob in one youtube demo video. I also believe that if you truly are a great player and are happy with where you're at in your musical career you don't go on internet forums to belittle more successful players because they didn't fiddle their knob.

Was just checking a number of NAMM videos uploaded over the weekend and, man, Quad Corteces were everywhere. Pretty much everyone with guitars and gear to demo had one set up and hooked to a "FRFR" amp solution.

I’m not degrading his playing ability. I’m saying he should just take care of it and be done with it.
Somehow this side thread caught my attention, and I'm a slave to my own curiosity...

Would you entertain the possibility that maybe one guitarist thought it better etiquette to let the other guitarist handle his own level and tone? I know if it were me, I'd prefer a nod or a verbal cue over someone reaching out and futzing with my amp mid-performance. The other guy may have opted to just play louder, or adjust his guitar volume, or a pedal... or who knows?

Anyway, I've tried, and failed, to find any footage of Tosin Abasi exhibiting a "seizure motion" here. :idk

No kidding. In one youtube pickup demo video Abasi asks someone to adjust his amp. Ergo, he is incapable of doing it himself. I haven't seen many bigger acts with incredible players where tweaking amps wasn't handled by techs, are they simply lacking this fundamental skill?
Apparently, I didn't manage to follow whose amp needed adjusting. Which just goes to show what a big deal it was. :rofl

Why with anyone that’s not the player or the tech touch the great mid performance?
