TGF’s Original White Meat: Badlander thread

Scratch that, the Mr. Scary mod doesn't work with the 25w version. 😢
If it helps, I don't like the Badlander at all with the Mr. Scary mod.. I have a Badlander 100W and i like it a lot more with a boost in front.

Not sure how the power section behaves but try these settings on the Crunch channel with a boost in front.

I’m going to take a note of that setting and try it out on my 50W. I tend to play it safe and keep my all of EQ around noon.

In a strange twist I decided not to spend money on something. I was talking about getting a drive pedal, probably just an SD-1, but I knew that would spiral into adding at least a tuner and possibly another Drop since I recently sold pretty much everything off. And I realized that thinking was absolutely ridiculous when all I really needed to do was pull the VP4 off the QC board and wire and configure it for 4CM with the Badlander 25. Fuuuuckkk. So damn good.

Two days ago I updated to VP4 firmware 2.0 and loaded the new factory presets then configured all of them for 4CM. Yesterday I spent a little time going through some of them with the intention of ensuring nothing got wonky. Like stereo effects being weird or anything. I didn't notice any strangeness in the few I went through.

FWIW, I was using the Badlander's clean mode with enough gain to be just breaking if I hit the guitar hard. The guitar is a Strandberg HSS with a P90 (BKP Blue Note) in the bridge. I had to keep the volume really low but turned it up a little more in short spurts. Wonderful combination.
