You will need to factor in new tuners, pots, switch and a full rewire as well. And very probably a fret dress too . They have a method of fretting that doesn’t actually have a fret level in the process.

Well The Area T have a complete Electronic Kit and I will put Locking tuners

The Area T™ Pre-wired Pickup Set for Tele® includes the Area T™ Neck and Area T™ Bridge pickups, control plate, knobs, and complete wiring harness featuring solderless installation

So maybe just a fret dress

You may not need one but all of the Eart guitars I've set up so far did have fret level issues.

Is probably to be expected at that price range but then again most guitars even ones costing more will most often require a fret level. My Charvel, my LTD and my Revstar all had fret leveling done when I purchased them, only my Godin did not need it

I have heard good words about EART's T-Type around. However, if all your upgrades will come $900+, you might be able to find a used Kotzen Telecaster for a little bit more and you don't have to do any upgrades.

Sorry for the off-topic, I did a demo on EART's headless before. It was a fine guitar for its price point.

I have to say, I love a Tele sound and feel and bridge. But the thick hard-edged body shape in my ribs (when I'm sat down)... not so much.

Sacrilege to most, I know... but I'm a sucker for the tummy cut (on my JM and Cutlass)

Further sacriliage: I'm probably going to build a Jazzcaster one day.
after playing only a tele for two months, I picked up my strat and it felt super awkward like it kept trying to slide out of my lap with all its curves. Took a few minutes to adjust. it doesn't take long to get to where you unknowingly swap between them.
