so long as I don’t hammer the same gain profile endlessly.

I bought a SYN-30 and it felt really anemic - lousier than my 20W ENGL Ironball - I sent it back the next day so I'm not too optimistic about a 20W head from this lot.The more I read it seems intriguing apparently FRYETTE has designed the power amp voicings and controls looking at the power station it talks a lot about a reactance circuit that make vintage amps sound modern and vice versa or loose amps tighter , the Syn 20 has a reactance control
I am just guessing but maybe that is a NFB dial
It seems like SYN20 might be
-
-Basically a Freidman Simple clean channel
- A Syn 1 dock
- FRYETTE integrated power station
- NFB control
-Synergy IR loader and software
Honestly for $999 it seems like a pretty good home studio practice and recording amp especially if you have a bunch of mods
Ya I don’t love the smaller amps that said Freidman 20 watters like the Taco , JJ and JEL have been pretty popular and sound damn good in the clips I have heard , so maybeI bought a SYN-30 and it felt really anemic - lousier than my 20W ENGL Ironball - I sent it back the next day so I'm not too optimistic about a 20W head from this lot.
That said, the form-factor and all of the other features are pretty sweet; just wish they'd pull something like Victory did with the Kraken or PRS did with the MT15.

Come on and hurry up with a Silver Jubillee

Funny you should mention that , we have a big announcement coming up before NAMM
Perhaps they are hinting at partnership with Marshall ?
The SYN5050 power amp is similar - lacks balls and thump compared to every other 50-watter it was put up against. I thought I may be a dud unit but the replacement was the same, and others reported similar results. Likely the tiny output transformer.I bought a SYN-30 and it felt really anemic - lousier than my 20W ENGL Ironball - I sent it back the next day so I'm not too optimistic about a 20W head from this lot.

Maybe BAD taking over Marshall Amps? There were some rumors going around that Marshall was up for sale again.
Whatever it is, looks like some cool toys coming very soon.
I don’t know if they are taking them over but Marshall really wants to get back in the game I thinkView attachment 35704

I hope it’s the CaliFortin module
That's a hard amp to dial in tbh. I'd rather they do the Evil Pumpkin or NATAS.I hope it’s the Cali
Actually the pumpkin would make sense it seems to be the most popular one by farThat's a hard amp to dial in tbh. I'd rather they do the Evil Pumpkin or NATAS.
But whatever it is, it'll be well received I bet.
I think the Meshuggah is still the most notorious one of them all. That said, the demo Jason put out of the amp sounded pretty damn cool and his other vids leading up to the release of his OG Pumpkin all sounded nothing short of awesome. Is the Pumpkin that popular? I remember a pretty prolonged delay for it, and then the only demo I heard was pretty shrill. Granted that might have been a Wrestlemania demo?
The Cali is kind of what put him on the map no?
________
I’d pay good money for a @santiall designed module of the JVM OD1 orange.

If the real amp is alike with the plugin, the Cali is a b!tch to get good tones from. Very finicky but there are a couple of combinations in there that work well.
Just had a look & it could well be it:It is the Cali most likely
It’s on the Fortin instagram blurred controls
But gain 1 gain 2
Brights on both
3 voicing switches per channel
Like Thump , Hair Saturation

Agree. Fortin is a pretty cool and unexpected add. With the NDSP Cali plug I just always started from like one of two Nolly presets and then tweaked from there. I don’t think ive ever really tried to do much from scratch. I agree though, it’s def a tweakers amp with all the various switches and dual gains.
In either event it’s really cool to see Synergy bringing in new brands and designers.
