Whatever it is; I hope it's 1/3 the cost and weight so I can spend 3x as much filling out the missing features because it's a stripped down device and have a pedalboard 2x as big to accommodate the extra crap I had to buy to actually be able to use it productively.

And to be clear; only the Stomp and FM0 are immune to this thought process for me. I like the idea of these kind of thought processes but inevitably end up building it out to some dumb degree because I just can't help myself :bonk:rofl

It’s clear you aren’t looking to build a weight conscious headphone rig for hikes to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro like the rest of us.

Sure. We could now possibly have a longwinding debate about when and how the term "replacement" applies (for instance: in my case, the Stomp has absolutely replaced the Floor, but I do of course perfectly understand how it's not exactly - or even remotely - a literal replacement), but we could as well just wait and see.

Fwiw, personally, if FAS was about to come out with a smaller footprint version of their amp modeling, maybe even completely without any FX but at a competetive price, I'd be pretty interested. As far as the Nano Cortex goes, so far I'm not.
The debate wouldn't be about what the word means for YOU. You didn't say it. Cliff said it wouldn't be a replacement for any of our existing products. The only reasonable interpretation of the word in that context is that this new product is not causing the retirement of an existing product.

Every bit this!

"Great, I can play pretty much each and every gig with just the Stomp!"
"Ok, that went all fine, but adding a dual footswitch certainly would add a lot more convenience!"
"Yeah, those switches really upped the Stomp game, but I defenitely missed my wah, so let me add that as well!"
"Well, now that things are mounted onto a board anyway, how about adding some analog dirt?"
"Splitting the signal and having independent monitor level and EQ has always been a winner move, so let me grab that DI box and EQ!"

Etc. => pedalboard larger than an HX Floor.

On a side note ... *if* the leaked image is the real thing ... aesthetically, its design reeks of 1990's Behringer.
Dark glass actually
It fits that chassis and they use blue tooth
I think this has likely been around a while maybe same time as QC

It will be exactly what you need and you will absolutely despise it. :D

THe FM3 and Stomp are by far my favorite products...

...and I don't own either of them.

Does anyone remember how the FM3 came to life?
Was it similar to this manner or more official with announcements on the FAS board?
I guess the same question applies for the FM9.

How did those two come to the general public's awareness back in their day?

Early hints or just an announcement out of the blue?

In other words, is this Fractal's first foray into the new fangled "SOON" like product roll outs?

I think for the FM9 there were some vague remarks from Cliff on forums, but then it just got launched on their website and forum.

I do, I do...I've owned each enough times to know that as much as I love them...my physical and mental space are both just much cleaner if I go with the rack version of a single platform and done.

I've also figured out that spending a ton of mental energy on snapshots/scenes, etc., doesn't put me in a better place than...just making a small handful of simple presets and going old school with it.

It is not, because it is not a foray into it.

"SOON" doesn't just lead to 7 people on an internet discussion forum discussing a single nebulous post made on same internet discussion forum.

"SOON" leads to exactly what people are complaining about in this thread -- clickbait YouTube video speculation, etc., etc., etc...
