Shimming a bass neck?

Anyone ever shim a bass neck? My Squier Jazz V feels like it could really use a slight shim.

Are there any special considerations different from a guitar neck?

No but are you sure that this in needed?
It’s pretty rare that you can’t get the adjustment you need without.

I think so. I’m having trouble getting the pickup heights low enough to get the saddles low enough. The relief of the neck is perfect.

I’m gonna try a small shim and see if it gets me what I’m looking for

I have the EXACT issue with my American Standard Jazz Bass. Saddles are decked, but luckily I’m happy with the action as it sits.
