Satchel's Rig Rundown, touring an AmpliFire 3

Metallica suck for whole other reasons than their tone. It's mostly their songwriting, sh*tty solos, basic b*tch drum beats, and assinine lyrics that even my 6 year old laughs at.

You say those things like they are objective facts and universal truths. :idk

Please tell me Slipknot is not being lumped into Nu Metal here... :hmm

Downtuned guitars- Check!
DJ in the band scratching in the songs- Check!
Rapping vocals (all over the first album or two)- Check!

While they’ve grown away from the more cliched trappings of nu-metal, like all the OG’s of nu-metal have at this point, those first two albums were as nu-metal as nu-metal got, man!

I would be down with a Nu Metal version of Steel Panther. Now that would be a riot! :headbang

Can I like Slipknot but think that "Clown" and Sid are completely unnecessary?

Sid’s at least there to break his legs, feet, ankles, arms, hands, etc at a live show completely out of the blue! :rofl

But yeah, I can go without the keg-banging and not miss it at all. Though everyone in that band says Clown is the ringleader and none of it would have happen or would continue happening without him, that band is his baby.

Are we still talking about Weiland? :hmm

He would have been a great nu metal singer

I don't know.

There are bands that emerged during the same period as the prime of Hair Metal
that I don't consider Hair Metal, even if they played guitars with Floyds into Marshall
style amps, and had long hair. :idk

Yup. A gag with a short shelf life that goes nowhere. Great comedians have to have new material, just
like a musician or artist. Can't hammer the same tired tropes over and over again and expect people to
not be critical of that.
I saw Jerry Seinfeld at a local venue twice over the span of about four years. The second time, he literally repeated the exact material from the first performance. My wife and I left about 30 minutes in. What a disappointment.
