I tried to think of all the options. Feel free to post anything that isn't covered in the poll.
Ditto.Most recently, wedge side firing.
That’s how I use it too, essentially as a backline. I use a guitar-oriented "FRFR" speaker, I never liked the sound of a modeler through a PA speaker. When I used to go direct to PA I’d use a wedge monitor in front of me.had only a wedge for myself, and stuck it on a pole behind me to project
I'm pretty sure this is why people have such wildly differing experiences in trying to use your reflection-free IRs through a monitor in place of a guitar cab. It's interesting that, so far, nobody has reported using a monitor (no silly acronyms, please) in the same way they would typically be expected to use a guitar amp/cab.
"Should be" is a matter of opinion. It's been my experience that placement slightly above ear level yields the best results.studio monitors should be at your ear level
That is dictated by audience sightlines more than anything else.monitors in a live band setting are fine in front of you on the ground pointing up towards you.
(no silly acronyms, please)
See-through cloud of nano UAV FRFRs FTW, IMHO, FWIW.That is dictated by audience sightlines more than anything else.
To be followed with thread: “which Nano UAV "FRFR" gives best ‘amp in the room’ feel?”See-through cloud of nano UAV FRFRs FTW, IMHO, FWIW.
"perform"None of the options in the poll.
I use my studio monitors upright in equilateral triangle and ears at woofer level, for everything including playing guitar.
I've done it this way a few times, monitor angled in the wedge position only behind me instead of in front of me, similar to a combo amp on a tilt back stand. It's interesting that, so far, nobody has reported using a monitor (no silly acronyms, please) in the same way they would typically be expected to use a guitar amp/cab.
That would be, umm, problematic for rehearsals and/or gigs. What's your setup for those?None of the options in the poll.

That's option 2 in the poll. Nobody has chosen option 1, however.I've done it this way a few times, monitor angled in the wedge position only behind me instead of in front of me
Which raises another question: how many guitar players who use amps put their amp on a tilt-back stand?, similar to a combo amp on a tilt back stand.
