He's waiting on the Amp-X last I knew. Hope it works out he wants it to.
I would most likely break off the clunky hinge. And the pay for updates model that has gotten talked about a time or two really doesn't trip my trigger. But it will probably sound good.I had a Amp 1 Silver and liked it - but I'm happier with the Catalyst 100.
I've gotten so lazy that unpacking the Amp 1, running power to it and plugging in a speaker cab just seemed like an unnecessary hassle!
But I like Blug's approach to things and am curious to try out the Amp X at some point.
When is is supposed to arrive?Impatiently waiting for the delivery all week...

Yeah I'm not fond of the hinge thing either even if it makes sense to protect the LCDs in transit. I hope they make it easy to just take off completely.I would most likely break off the clunky hinge. I'm mostly evaluating if I want to keep the FM3 for effects and sell my Strymon etc pedals or vice versa. The fx on the FM3 of course sound great but I had a really annoying time trying to make the Multitap Delay's Quad Tape delay do the things I wanted whereas doing the same things on my Strymon Volante is so easy. Using FM3-Edit made it a lot easier but I just don't like having to rely on having a laptop right next to this rig.

I'm okay with the paid model because it gives back to the designers of the gear getting modeled and if they work with Blug then could result in more authentic results too when BluGuitar doesn't have to reverse engineer everything.
That said, I've been messing with the FM3 v6.00 betas this week, plugged into my BluGuitar Amp 1 ME as a poweramp and into my Bluetone 4x10 cab. I can dial the FM3 to sound like the BluGuitar or the BluGuitar to sound pretty much like any Fender/Marshall based model on the FM3. In this setup there is so little difference between the two.

The BluGuitar Amp X might hit in the right spot between easy to use and having all you need for a live rig. I'm not interested in it as a recording tool or fx box but for those whose needs are more live-oriented it should be fantastic.
I am more likely to stick to my Axe-Fx 3 into studio monitors and maybe build a stereo poweramp + cabs rig around it in the future.

Thanks!Hi @laxu ! It's good to see you here
What happend to your helmet? You look... different.
I know what you mean about the Volante vs the FAS Multitap Quad delay. Of course the Multitap sounds excellent, but the Volante is just such an easy to use UI and it's effortless to make tweaks on the fly. The Volante a great creative tool. I am in the same quandary.

It absolutely does, to the point that it is entirely pointless to have hundreds of amp models. They all do sound good though.Running everything into the same cabinet really does homogenize the sound quite a bit, but I think for me that can be a big help. For years when I get annoyed by the sound of the modeler, I look for different IR's or a different amp model or change the EQ/cuts, etc. But I think now it would have been a lot simpler to just run into a guitar speaker.
Yeah I don't get the obsession with having hundreds of amps models at your fingertips. It absolutely does, to the point that it is entirely pointless to have hundreds of amp models.
