Preamp pedal recommendations welcome

Probably not buying anything. The comments from people regarding the Studio series that were previously complimentary are less so now, which is discouraging, and there isn't any thing else I'm particularly interested in. So yeah, not sure what I'll do with the "office" rig, but probably use the Power Station in the living room for a stereo setup, put the pedals on my small pedalboard away, and do whatever with the 4th cabinet.
Can you link to this pretty please?

If this is true, it’s precisely why I bought the JCM-900 pedal. If you been at this long enough… I repeat, you can usually/sometimes/often get a sense of the “DNA” a product or series has and get an idea of whether you’re in the right ballpark. I honestly hope it’s the historical criticisms of the past. The jump from the 800 to the 900 upset some. But I like what some guys laid down with that amp so I dunno.

It was in reference to the Studio series in general. There was discussion on the other place regarding that the Studio series isn't really Made in England. Someone on Guitar Gear Forum was pretty complimentary of the Studio series earlier in the thread, then later basically contradicted their comments as far as I interpreted them. So yeah, managed to save myself $1300-3000 with a couple emails and a couple posts on forums.

I have the JCM-800SH and think it’s great. At reasonably loud Condo levels when my neighbor is out it sounds nice boosted with a couple of Marsh 1x12’s. Was there a specific criticism of them… Other than where they were made?

I have the JTM Studio combo. Love that amp.

I came here to say that. I have the JCM800 version but i kinda want the Twin one as well.
The AS Twin is only two gain stages like the real deal sans Reverb/Tremelo, so it's really a clean or pedal platform preamp, though paired with a real tube power amp or sim for tube power amp distortion, it can do some mid-gain'ish Blues tones.

Since I use a ToneX One for a tube power amp sim, I can get that tube power amp distortion at any SPL.

That might be an option if they didn't look cheaply made. It also doesn't really fit on my pedalboard.
The AS Sounds tube preamps are hardly "cheaply made", as they include among other things a small custom toroidal power transformer to supply HV in those small enclosures. The plastic cases save weight, and I've had no noise problems because of them in a variety of gigging situations.

They're relatively cheap because they're hand built by Arthur in Bulgaria.
