Okay, scratch that, Stomp is getting pitched.

Spent some time putting it in/out of the chain tonight and it definitely takes some sparkle away and just gives a slight muted feeling, even with the levels set right. :(

Was looking at the Earthquaker Hoof Reaper? Any experiences with that fuzzy octabeast?

Hoof is killer. Modern modded Muff that is legendary. :love

Not tried the Reaper.

It ain’t cheap, but I guess if you look at it as three pedals, it's reasonable. And I love the analog octave-up aspect..

The Hoof has long been on my need-to-try-that list.

ALL EQD stuff is great, in my experience. Just the right amount of quirky.

I think some kind of Contour/Shift/Mids control is vital on a Muff-variant,
otherwise they are so scooped and compressed you end up buried. Hoof
has that. :chef

I admire players who can easily manipulate, and incorporate effects in their playing. I am not one of them.

I have seen a local guitarist use this pedal. When I talked with him about it, he said it was a "space echo" on a budget. If you don't mind inexpensive pedals you will like it.

Yeah, I really do love the Stomp and as mentioned, Transistor Tape is a staple for me. I was just starting to really dig the BOSS space echo model too (which, I’ve now realized, the real one is an inch too big for this spot).

But in this MKVII loop, and perhaps with the VP4’s crystal clarity (lattice? ;)) with which to compare it, it’s very evident that it is dulling things down a bit, unfortunately.

Shocking!!

Imagine today's product sounding better than one that is seven years old??? I was told that conversion doesn't matter so I really have no idea what it could be. :rofl

A Belle Epoch Deluxe fit? Echoplexes are made to run in the front of a dirty, or not dirty, amp. :chef

I think so, it’s on my list of contenders, and would probably sound amazing with the IIB (god I’m loving that channel/mode).

But I’m kind of going all-in on Fractal delays for now, I think?

I've had one since they were released---2016 ish? The Preamp in it does a thing,
and then you have the Recording Level to add some drive and saturation to your
signal. Has a pretty decent DMM emulation, too. It can do a lot in front of an amp
that I am not sure any Fractal delays can offer.

I also have an EP-3. The BED is top of the heap when it comes to a Echoplex emulation
out in the wild that doesn't involve actual tape.

Oh, and the instant Oscillation via the Footswitch is Hell of a lot of fun! Assignable
EXP pedal control over Delay Time, Mix, or Feedback. Such a well-designed pedal,
with a ton of thought put into it. I am partial to Catalinbread, though. :idk
