So how does the III compare to the IIc+?
The IIC+ was monumental and the first of two pivot points for Mesa Boogie. They took over the late 90s rock and metal sounds with this amp and it’s later variants.

My impression has always been that the III was all the tone, half the hype of the IIC. It has an extra gain stage in the lead channel when you pull the Rhy2 knob, and has the Rhy 2 channel, but it uses a smaller transformer than the IIC.

I've had the Studio, the JPIIC and the VII. In the past few weeks; I've GAS'd for the IV, V, the IIC reissue and because of this thread; the III. Again. Jesus christ :brick:rofl
