I'm just gonna say this, more as regular Drew and not mod-Drew, but I get a bit of a skeeved out/not good feeling making people who don't post here the target of jokes, even if those people regularly rub me the wrong way.

It just takes one or two visitors from an outside forum to come here then go and then go make their own "This is why I don't post on TGF" threads because they happened to see a couple posts targeting others who don't even post here or have a way to defend themselves.

Take with that what you will.

@DrewJD82 You made a good point. Deleted. I did consider this, which is why I've never used names. But your excellent point still stands, regardless. 🙇‍♂️

You're all free to post what you want, our only rules are no politics/religion/porn.

But keep in mind, this is equally your community as we're all contributing to making it what it is. As we've seen in threads here or other places that discuss other forums, there seems to be a sentiment that if something was said on a forum but not deleted by a mod, it must be condoned or agreed with by the forum owners/mods, thus, that is the 'vibe' of the place. While I absolutely do not agree with that at all, I've seen it said about both FAS and TGP repeatedly, so it's a sentiment that exists and some people feel rather strongly about that.

I suppose I look at it like my apartment; it's very cozy and welcoming, there's definitely a vibe here (a Floyd concert was what I was going for...) that leaves some kind of imprint on people when they leave. I like that it's a welcoming/chill place and my friends like coming here to get away from the rest of the world and check out from reality. I'm the only one who has any control over that vibe in this place, but on TGF, we're collectively responsible for it.

Deleting stuff that doesn't pertain to politics/religion/porn is of no interest to me, regardless of how I feel about it.

I agree wholeheratedly @DrewJD82. And at my age, I ought to know better, really. I've got a great deal of enjoyment out of this community over the last few weeks already, and I do hope that it continues to flourish. I want to be a part of that uh... "flourishment" ( 🤔 ) and I want that cozy apartment vibe too!

Really appreciate your perspective and vision for the place Drew. You’re a good man and a killer guitarist and have a great thing going here - it does feel welcoming/chill. There’s a reason we’re all here - and we have shared responsibility to keep it that way. Certainly don’t want to be leaving empty beer cans on the floor, let alone broken furniture, overturned tables and torn blinds. 😊

Well put. As usual :beer

Focusing on "elsewhere", unless it's an "elsewhere" you enjoy; is not really worth it. It can be fun to joke around. I sure tf know that :whistle :rofl Obsessing on it isn't good for the soul. If you have one :satan

I still go to a few places and I enjoy them for what they are. No shame or harm in that. As well as hang here because of the cool people that are present. Cheers to everyone HERE for making it what it is :love

“if you have one”
:rofl :rofl

That sound is iconic!

I remember using that for some computer sound back in the day. Probably something like the completion of a LimeWire download. “Dun dun.” :rofl :rofl
