Been through ALL the Jazz style picks. @Eagle turned me on to these and I’ve finally found the one! For now. 😂
Like I said… for now. :facepalm

I’m currently rocking the Dunlop Flow Tortex 1.5mm:

Clayton Ultem rounded triangle .45 mm or Dunlop Ultex rounded triangle .60mm.

For about 25 years, I used nothing but Clayton Acetal rounded triangles, usually .50 mm for guitar and .63 mm for bass, but a few years ago, I discovered that the Ultem/Ultex picks really do sound dramatically better, so I switched. What will never change is that I will always use light to medium rounded triangles.

I just noticed from practicing today for using the back edge (Benson type thing) I use a Dunlop jazz 3 flex .73, using standard grip I used Red Bear 1.5 or Blue Chip 60.

In other words I use the expensive stuff only with standard grip and with Benson I go lighter and don’t care. Trippy

Man, after bagging on Ultex as "too chirpy" I am really digging it
for muted/percussive picking passages. That chirp kind of helps
accentuate the point of attack.

Hetfield uses Ultex, too.

Ordering a bunch of Pick(le)s today. :pickle

I've been primarily using the Black Ice 1.10 or 1.5mm as well.

I still like the yellowish Ultex and the 1.5MM flows as @la szum points out.

My hope is that Dunlop would make the Flows out of the same material as the Black Ice. To me that would seem about perfect for most situations.

I like Tortex they just wear out too quickly.
