When I moved to MA many years ago, I told someone at the office that I'd driven through Worcester - which, like a crazy person, I pronounced exactly the way it looks. Everyone fell over laughing at me, and explained that it was pronounced "Wooster" (for no apparent reason.)

A couple of months later I mentioned that I had to run an errand in Dorchester, and feeling better acclimated, I pronounced it "Dooster". And everyone fell over laughing at me again.

I lived in Boxborough for 3 years. Not to be confused with Foxborough, where actual things exist and occur. Boxboro at the time was a PC manufacturer named NEC, a gas station, a VHS rental place (to mitigate suicidal ideations), and a tree or two. The boredom eventually became unbearable and I moved to Boston.

Worcestershire sauce is the bomb though. Wherever I am using it I always take a swig or two for the chef.

Here in CT we have a New Britain and a New London. I'm pretty sure New London is bigger than New Britain, and we've managed to cram both of them inside New England.

LOL, why is it so fucking hard for people to learn how to make a proper pizza? It's not at all complicated, and in NY and CT they can teach minimum wage HS kids how to do it in about 15 minutes of on the job training. Drive a couple hours and you just get a shitty substitute. WTF?

You'll hear all these stupid theories about everything from old bricks to the hardness of the local water. What it really comes down to is: Step 1. Give a shit. New Haven people are obsessed with pizza. It's almost annoying after a while.

(EDIT: Also, good cheese. In the 'burbs of MA, they'll throw Kraft slices on a pizza and ask you if you want a bag of chips on the side.)

I went to school in Michigan, and I had no problem making a good pizza while there, because lord knows you couldn't buy anything resembling a pizza despite 2 huge "pizza" chains being based nearby. All it took was giving a shit and knowing how to mix a few ingredients, all of which were available in a Kroger.

There is a chain in Buffalo (Mighty Taco) that uses that shit on their tacos! It's like what you would expect if you challenged a bunch of industrial food experts to make a non-taco substantially worse than Taco Bell can.

This one is completely fake, unlike the one about the guy baptizing a gator in Wafflehouse which was completely real. When it comes to Floriduh, the more out there it is, the more likely it is true.
