NMD: Axe-Fx III MK II Turbo (J.F)

If anything plugin versions will lead to more people spending wedge on Fractal HW. Fractal already has a massive head start as far as establishing their reputation for quality, and offering decent HW that’s tried and tested.

There is absolutely a demand for software versions that can’t be met by using a HW modeller because the workflow forced you to work a less preferable way.

I don't think Cliff's biggest concern is 13 yr olds using a plugin.
It's other devs reverse engineering the code, and using it for their own products.

To be honest, while I sort of understand that, I wouldn't happen to know of even just one single example of that to happen in the audio plugin world (which I am pretty closely following ever since it started becoming affordable).

The only example I can think of is Mooer ripping off Electro-Harmonix; literally stealing their code from an embedded chip.

Behringer making 'clones' of things is a bit of a different situation, and not legally as clear cut.

Serious question though
What does FM0 look like is it just an FM3 with no switches?
Does it have a bigger display ?
Knobs underneath , how many ?
How much CPU , same as FM3 turbo ?
And at what price would it make sense vs just snagging a FM3

Yeah, I get it, but there are soooo many companies that exist largely in the digital domain, and piracy doesnt seem to stop them from being able to operate. I get that Cliff is protective of the secret sauce in the code though.

Using plugs is sooooo much more easier/flexible than hardware for recording. A man can dream. lol
I think the question is could Fractal Audio make enough in plugin sales to displace his current business model.

A plugin would be extremely convenient in the daw, however would severely devalue the hardware for recording purposes. Once the plugin code is cracked it would even further devalue things, and encourage copycats.

Think people need to realise that people other than Cliff are capable of reading white papers!! HE ISN'T GOD YOU KNOW?!

I still would love a fractal delay plugin to go with the reverb. That way I could run on aux bus for post effects.
