NGD: PRS SE DGT (was: Suitable Locking Tuners for PRS SE)

Fwiw, I think it's a really bad move of PRS to ship the DGT without locking tuners. I mean, way cheaper vibrato-equipped guitars come with them these days, most PRS guitars as well. And I think pretty much anyone wants them anyway.
Wouldn't be half as bad if it was standard dimensions - but as is, it's possibly just the PRS ones that fit. Which might be ok, but it's not just that - because as the stock tuners are having the same unusual dimensions, you'll likely not find any good use for them, so straight into the trash they go. What a waste.
I'd rather pay 50 bucks on top, wouldn't have to worry about sourcing parts and wouldn't waste ressources.
I completely agree, but alas all SE's come with non-locking tuners.

I definitely want to get locking tuners on my se nf53

Same goes for my S2 594. I get that the 594 is supposed to be a more “vintage” model but still seems like a cop out that it’s one of the few USA models (s2 or core) that doesn’t come stock with locking tuners

Oh, mine definitely ain’t that floppy.

….unless I’ve had too much to drink.

Fwiw, the pop-in vibrato arm fits a lot better, too. With the previous one, I had to tighten the screw a whole lot, now it glides in very smoothly and still has no leeway.

So, this looks like a keeper. Just what I expected the first time around.
Will not replace the tuners immediately but have a look for suitable non-PRS ones first (I just prefer thumbscrew ones).

Knowing me, I could pretty much imagine that I will somewhat alter the electronics one day (I think I just prefer a master volume and I may as well want to exchange the switch with the middle pot), but maybe it's just a matter of getting used to. After all, with it's excellent clean up, it might be nice to dial the neck pickup back some and have a quick'n'dirty almost clean to riffing switching system with just the toggle switch. We'll see.
I could as well imagine checking out another bridge pickup one day, basically just for the fun of it, but I will very likely never do that with the neck pickup as I *really* like that one (had to screw it down quite a bit, though). Slight compression and some reverb and there's a wonderful clean lead tone.

Anyhow, looks like the two of us will become friends now.

I’m wondering if PRS are going to make some black knob locking tuners ?
I like the black ones on my new gold top CE.
