NGD: PRS SE DGT (was: Suitable Locking Tuners for PRS SE)

Wtf?! Locking tuner shafts too short. Quite some folks in the Thomann report section were saying they were replacing their PRS tuners with them.
Grr!

Ok, there goes my next Thomann order...

More issues. No sound from the bridge pickup here and there. Apparently a bad switch (also requires enormous force for switching, but I thought that was because it was new).
Then: Put new strings on and now the open D4 has a really bad resonant sound, pretty obviously the nut is filed too low (as soon as I finger a note, the sound is gone).
As much as I could just get mad, this is likely going back.

Ok, everything arranged already, guitar will go back. I'll get a new one, hopefully this time it'll be better. I asked them to check the guitar again @ Thomann before sending it out, which they will likely do. Unfortunately, it won't be here before the first week of December.

Sounds like that one shouldn’t have left the factory in that condition. My expensive Strandberg also had nut issues but I managed to get it to them locally and get it fixed.

With my PRS SE I immediately got it serviced locally and the nut changed for a TUSQ XL since I had heard it was a weak spot on the SE’s.

Defenitely not. Seems as if the nut slot for the D-string was kinda "just about" making it - in case they set the action higher, so they did that. Or so. And then the new set of strings showed everything.
But then, I was already considering some moves to "repair" it myself (maybe with some superglue, which already helped me in the past and then getting a new nut when I find the time), so I played around to pinpoint the issue - when all of a sudden the switch went on strike as well. That sealed the deal for me. Not gonna "hack" around a guitar with several issues.

It really is (can be?) a great guitar.

Oh absolutely. Before I changed strings (after my attempt to change the tuners), I really liked it already and was pretty excited about the next gigs
But it seems as if the the string change had kinda "filed" out the rest of what might've kept D4 up high enough in the nut slot not to buzz.
The switch all of a sudden acting up might've even been a "happy" coincidence, because had it only been the nut, I might've considered fixing it on my own (or having it fixed locally). But that was just too much, so I rather get a spanking new one. Let's hope it'll be better.

I’ve got the PRS locking tuners on mine as well, but the price mentioned earlier was steep!

I'm inquiring some other ones (from TonePros), their site says it's 27mm post height, but I mailed them to ask whether that's bottom to top (which would possibly not be enough) or bottom to string hole. Waiting for what they will say.
I might otherwise try the PRS SE ones, but apparently quite some of them come with sharp edges around the string holes.
Not gonna spend almost €200 for a set of tuners.

Nope, I meant the SE one’s. But I might be a cheapskate!

Well, I certainly am. Anyway, there's 2 versions of PRS SE locking tuners available here (the one with the top screw and the auto locking ones), both coming in at €99.

Whatever, it's a shame there don't seem to be suitable Gotohs available over here. Their shafts are all too short.

There are actually three, I think. One regular (top knob), one for Silver Sky SE, and one for McCarty SE. They're separately labeled boxes at the shop, anyway.
