So, like many many guitarists before me I’ve set out on the pilgrims path to the land of MIAB…

Try a Vox Copperhead. Seriously, they're very good and priced very well. They're $100 straight from their e-store.
I mistakenly hit mine with 18v power because I wasn't paying attention. It was long enough to cause issues so I'm gonna pick up another.

Thanks for the suggestion, I’ll keep that one in mind! Sounds like that whole Vox line was seriously underrated

All very fine choices, depending on what exact sound you're chasing.

I love my RevivalDrive Compact (and my RevivalDrive Hot Rod Custom) and will absolutely recommend it. It will also do more than your typical MIAB pedal.
