New amp; inbound. FINALLY \M/

Nothing! I want el34s (at this exact minute of this exact day)
I have an ENGL Artist Edition. Really simple amp, has an EL34 power section, an excellent FX loop and a noise gate. The lead channel breathes fire and the clean and crunch sounds are useable, too. IMO it‘s the better Marshall.

@JiveTurkey if you’re looking for a great amp that can do the modded plexi and 800 stuff the JVM does and you can wait a bit, order a Splawn Quick Rod. The Fractal models are the reason I went that route after the JVM and the real amp is every bit as good as the models. Great loop and the clean channel volume works too. :D

Tubes are over rated for a pure power amp. Get something lighter and more practical like a solid state amp with a tube amp like damping factor. The MC2300 is always a good choice and delivers a TRUE 600 plus watts fully driven all day long, and it only weighs 130 lbs, or 58 Kilos for the drug dealers/Canadians/Euro people who use those funky measurements.

What's wrong with the fryette?????????????

Boss Katana it is

First, I am only talking power amp, for use with a tube pre-amp or a decent modeler/capture device which JT has covered. Second, it has to be the right kind of SS amp. One that has a tube amp like low damping factor, weighs a metric shit ton, costs more than the GDP of half the countries in the world, and is old enough that few people know how to repair it. Tone is in the sacrifice, not the power tubes themselves.

I'm not really asking for suggestions, tbh. I am highly self-suggestable as it is :nails :ROFLMAO:

I have the LX for now. For gigging; I'm just accepting defeat and using the FR12 and it is about as good as that experience is going to get. Speaking of caveat onslaught

Wife is out with her friends at a market so I took this time to crank the MultiWatt and JVM LOUD through my 112 cabs.

The Multiwatt is quite a bit slower in response because I am still not boosting. Sorry James :bag

It is MUCH quieter than the JVM certainly. The JVM IS a ripper on that OD channel. It just straight up IS. The cascade of noise, even when mitigated by palm-muting or other picking hand techniques is not good though. Definitely an amp where you NEVER face it while playing :nailsThe perfect Marshall to me at this point would be a modern JVM with just the OD channel with Badlander level of noise (aka barely any) and a loop that played nice immediately. I wonder how doable that would be?
