I have an ENGL Artist Edition. Really simple amp, has an EL34 power section, an excellent FX loop and a noise gate. The lead channel breathes fire and the clean and crunch sounds are useable, too. IMO it‘s the better Marshall.Nothing! I want el34s (at this exact minute of this exact day)

Too much $ for what it is though, imo.
Tubes are over rated for a pure power amp. Get something lighter and more practical like a solid state amp with a tube amp like damping factor. The MC2300 is always a good choice and delivers a TRUE 600 plus watts fully driven all day long, and it only weighs 130 lbs, or 58 Kilos for the drug dealers/Canadians/Euro people who use those funky measurements.

I have gigs all weekend. I'm going to hold off on anything irrational. For now![]()
FR12 was fine last night and will be fine tonight. Not traditional amp fine, but fine e-noughGigs are good that way! Can help keep a limit on the wandering eye and/or settle idle, anxious hands.
I got my Temple Audio board rolling quite nicely. We'll see how night 2 treats meFor me, the need to be functional/problem-free helps keep me from yet another teardown + re-setup of my pedalboard.
