We appreciate the kind words about our products.... as far as this topic, leave us out of this shit.

K. THX. BYE.

To their credit, they're still the only unit that combines profiling and modeling, and neither Fractal nor Line 6 has indicated that they want that to change. Tonemaster - even cheaper - is also limited to modeling.

It's a unique value prop along with the touchscreen, and that - not updates, plugins, or any one piece of content - will likely always be the reason for its appeal.

That being said, I think Line 6 - of the big players - is most uniquely positioned to bust up even that appeal by offering a refreshed UI, compact and great-sounding current/next-gen modeler that maybe, kinda, sorta would have profiling capabilities of some sort.
For my part, I’ll continue preferring QC for reasons that are negatives for lots of other people. Yes, footswitch spacing and visibility suck, and it requires a wallwart. The competition (e.g. TMP) will rightly “correct” these issues, resulting in bigger, heavier products. So I still feel I made the right choice (for myself, for once in my life lol.)

As for NDSP, they couldn’t have built more than they sold, so I guess they weathered their (considerable) missteps ok. Not sure how they’ll fare in the long term, though.

The nice thing is the QC can have a string of captures after one another and yeah also models of amps and stuff, to me that is the coolest thing. And I think that is something that other units need to get a hold of in their next model they sell.

The “almost at the starting line” QC just made a new entrant into the premium tier modeler space look like a step back in many regards. The “starting line” will be a pretty damn good spot, regardless of what they do from there. Just get there.

I’ll buy the Line 6 Neural Lunch Eater 💯 when it happens. :ROFLMAO:

Yeah, but the thing about capturing - and I assume that Line 6 would be focused on this heavily if they decided to step in that particular area - is that it doesn't offer much utility without really good UX/UI for organizing, auditioning and buying them from third-parties - both on your computer and on-device.

No player has mastered all of those except for Kemper. Neural and Tonex are tied for a distant-ish second. Almost everybody else is in a clown car falling off a canyon somewhere.

I agree, but the QC let`s me quick search via A.B.C.D...list. It`s got a bit better with time ( but it`s not all the way there yeat) It needs to be named in a logic way, that is what drives me nuts sometimes, downloading stuff that is named... HD.mD.02-5B..what the fuck is that!? haha
I hope the markedplace get`s here in a hurry, but I don`t see myself buying all that much stuff as my QC is full of cool thing I`ve downloaded + I have re-named all the stuff to make sense, and I can capture stuff myself

True the years I`ve had a lot of Line6 stuff, POD Been ,VETTA, POD X3, Spider Valve, then over to a few Axe Fx Ultra, and Axe Fx II, then Line6 HX Stomp ( 3 days) and I think that the Axe Fx Ultra, and Axe Fx II is a lot better and I was like.. what was I doing all these years!? :idk
I had Digitech before all this , 2112 rack
What I mean is, that for me...Line6 needs to make a Bang of a product for me to go that way again, it may seem like I diss them ( I don`t) but if I want something really good sounding I go with Fractal Audio ( they just need to make a UI that is living in the modern age ) ( and stop with the endless tweaking of the same amps again and again) But I love the sound! :clint

The Quad Cortex is just too much fun to use ( in my case) and I can put things in it, that was not made by the maker of the unit

I just hope that folks get the dream sound out of the unit they have, but I learned that don`t be cheap in the future (me), and get something that sounds good and is fun to use

Played around with the Control beta.

I immediately realized with the QC sitting on the table next to me, that I would much rather just use the device UI.

“Hurry up and release the editor”

“Oh, I actually don’t need one”

:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

It’s basically just the same as using the device UI, just clicking a mouse. I didn’t have any real issues, except for a couple times it didn’t register me hitting enter, which takes it out of audition mode on a block and replaces it. Audition mode is really cool.

Neural needs to cop the block library idea from Fractal and just call it a “favorites” library.

Seemed stable to me. And completely pointless for my use case. (Desktop warrior)

Wait, this means that (as of some time yesterday)… you still own a QC?? I assumed the FM3 had sent it packing. Here’s to small victories! :)
