Musicians which deserved more success

Define success.

Probably so. However, "success" is something that can be quite undeserved happenstance or marketing etc.

Did The Macarena deserve success?

Down Under, we consider Cold Chisel to be our greatest ever rock band - not AC/DC. But they never broke America thanks to Marty Schwartz and the volatile lead singer giving his (Marty) bag of nose candy to a crowd.

They did get a song out of it.

Hah! I grew up listening to them. Rick Witkowski’s a close friend of my uncle.
Really!

The other guitarist in my 2nd band, who was 3 years ahead of me in HS, turned me onto them, and me, him, and my drummer buddy, whom I've been friends with both for like, 45 years, all 3 of us LOVE these guys! We've probably seen them 8 times. Most of any band I've seen.

Last time was right in my town, (we're on his side, all of 8' from him) and we hung out and chatted with Rick after. He STILL has that on-stage energy, and I wanna say he's right around 70.

And of course the 3 of us, being in bands together, covered many CTS songs-

Hold On
She's A Dancer
Lighten Up McGraw
Techni Generation
All American Boy

SUCH a fun band! Most everyone I've turned on to them have liked them. They got into a record deal where the label didn't promote them properly for some reason. RS lists their debut in the top 50 greatest prog albums.

Being somewhat near to their scene (Balt/DC, sort of), I've met many people who know the members personally.
