That being said, I would like to think I could hear good music still. There are new things I like, I'm not against new.....or nu, just don't like tired and over compressed and noisy dynamic less.

The cool thing about early thrash and punk, metal, hip hop, etc. -- the production was more raw and live sounding. It had that underground flavor and charm that made it special. Like anything that becomes popular and homogenized, the production level goes way up but often something is sacrificed along the way -- generally speaking. There are exceptions of course.

Suicidal Tendencies was a pre Nu metal band that was hard to categorize. More thrashy sounding but with a lot of the eclectic elements.

And not Nu Metal. Thank you baby Jesus!

Stuck Mojo is another band that I associate more with the Rap-Metal/Crossover wave of the mid-nineties, before Nu Metal was shat upon the world.

You won my heart today.

I love me some of that genre (if it is a genre?), but not as much as your

Definitely not. But they were certainly a corner stone band for punky thrash metal -- which helped sprout genres like Nu metal. (what the hell is a Nu? )
