Moving cross country… would you trust a moving company?

I’ve moved cross country a couple times now and would not trust a moving company with any of my valuables under any circumstance. Most moving companies have VERY dubious chains of custody.
I moved a few years back to halfway across Finland and I have nothing but good things to say about the moving company I picked.

Extremely professional, organized and everything arrived in tip top shape. It cost me something like 1800 € and that included all the moving boxes, 2 guys for moving + driver and a big ass truck. Got the boxes like a week before so we had plenty of time to pack them, then they carried them in and out real fast. Felt like a fair price for the service compared to having to do all that yourself, rent a truck etc.

I did haul my guitars in a car tho, just in case.

Late on this but good luck in the move Jer! Are you sticking with all you music projects or starting fresh?

I’ve moved amps and guitars a few times, and the trick that saved my sanity was packing the important stuff myself and letting pros handle the grunt work. A crew like discountmoving.ca can do the loading and transport while you box the heads and guitars the way you want. I’ve also shipped a few pieces separately for peace of mind, but having movers you can actually talk to makes a big difference.

I used Southside Moving and Storage when I moved to Norfolk, and they were great with my studio equipment. Nothing was scratched or damaged.
