However, it invites comments like post 2 and 4 and 7 that are exactly and overtly political. It’s only one foot in a cow turd, I guess, but it still stinks.
Oh horseshit. Nothing I said was overtly political. Stop being a sensitive peach. This is an ECONOMIC post affecting GUITAR AMPS. If you’d like to discuss politics, I am happy to. PM me any time.

I'm all for low prices, and I don't know Joe Morgan personally, but calling a guy out just because he won't "absorb" a 25% tariff is kinda nuts if you ask me.
It not the absorption of Tariff
More the if there was a way to profit from that Joe would be the guy
Joe is a great builder , but person based on his past dealings with customers not so much

there is the option to stop reading and go elsewhere, which id probably recommend. and mind you, the small businesses reacting to the political action of another nation, or your own nation, have got to sniff that same turd in reality ways that a forum can't approximate for their actual livelihood. so discussion might try to be politically squashed, but reality remains regardless. it aint political inherently, but like anything, if shit gets dumped we all smell it.

in the meantime, gentlemen, and occasional lady, id heartily recommend continuing discussion.

If i can tell which side you’re on then you’re being political. I thought i made it clear that I’m not interested in politics. I’m going to decline your offer.

Yeah, you’re right. I probably should just stop participating here.

If this thread remains I’ll know that i don’t belong here.

I don’t really know for sure but I’d imagine amp builders would rather sell as many amps as possible at a competitive price than price themselves above the competition to an extent that it turns people away. Either way, the margins on building amps aren’t great to begin with and it’s unlikely any of these boutique amp builders are doing it to make a quick buck like that.

There’s been several things that have driven the costs of building amps up massively and i’ll be amazed if there aren’t more bumps along the way

mind you, hse- noone is trying to exclude you at all by looking at how we're affected by the tariffs. but i think we all haveta deal with whats happening, and if fender were to get shut down because of european tariffs... id be wanting to know why regardless of politics.

we all need to look at how policy acts on economics to determine if it works the way we want it to as societies, but in the meantime, i sure wish guitar playing wasnt getting exponentially more expensive regardless of my politics.

I come here to get away from this garbage. Covert political discussion is still political discussion.
If only you could just not read a thread...

I know you're forced to view and participate in everything here. Maybe we could get a change to the forum that would make it so you could pick and choose what you view and participate in? Exercise freewill instead of being told what to do.

Oh wait...you have that already...

I was going to talk about how it may affect Mesa Boogie and PRS being American companies, and then also the Japanese companies

Don't really know, but it has to 😥

PRS is now a global operation, but the Maryland plant sources a lot of maple from Canada. Mahogany and rosewood come from many places, if i recall correctly.

Right; there’s no such thing as an American made anything, not 100%. While I think it would be lovely if it were the case, there’s just no infrastructure in place for that.

The tariff nonsense is why I was reluctant to jump into the Synergy stuff and went with the used Mark V instead. While US tariffs should not make guitar gear more expensive in EU, EU countries are likely to counter with their own tariffs on US products. It's just never good for anyone involved.

Tariffs on material and parts will affect gear pricing.
Everything "made in America" will be more expensive for everyone, anywhere in the world.

My guess is prices for American-made instruments will go up sooner than later.

Then again, pricing for PRSs has been very weird lately. Their Indionesian guitars (which are excellent quality, mind you) have risen sharply in cost over the last couple years, specially in Europe.

if you know you can cause the market to dive or go back up its a very easy way to make lots of money

the absolute dumbest pieces of shit voted for this but we all are going to suffer as a result. we had a decent run, just have some fun with the time we have left
