I've use this all the time for a couple pre-amp pedals that lack a Presence control.
Set the high PEQ band to 5KHz and the Q for the tightest. Increase the gain by a couple of dB and then strum some chords while sweeping both up and down from the 5KHz point. You'll find the sweet spot somewhere between 4KHz-6KHz.
The tight Q is key cause it'll act like a knife to cut through with some sparkle. A wide Q just makes it sound like you turned the treble way up.
Placement is after the preamp or in the FX loop of an amp before any FX pedals.
