Perhaps they have tailored the IRs to work with the voicing of the speaker to then produce the results you would expect from a variety of popular speaker flavors? That could be cool.

Because FRFR mode on the OG PowerCab was pretty much an afterthought anyway.

I would just use it without any IRs or the internal Speaker Models in pure Power Amp mode and it'll sound a darn sighter better than any FRFR.

This is assuming that they're decent sounding neutral guitar speakers.

Am I missing anything, or is this but a refresh of the original Powercab line? Feature set looks very similar.

Nothing wrong with that, too. I owned a PC 112 a couple years ago and it was great.

It looks like a Catalyst 100 without amp modeling and some speaker EQ settings. Not frfr. Regular speaker same cab as the Catalyst.

Is this like something someone asked for? At least make the cab closed back. I guess I just don’t understand the market research lol. The OG PowerCab was too much of some stuff and not enough of other stuff and this is like no features I ever thought of putting together in that way.

Yes its not an FRFR and its open cab with speaker emulation which i never use on my Powercabs, so not sure what route they are going in with this New CL and really not what i was expecting

They probably could’ve gotten the OG PCs pretty close with just updated firmware.

The PowerCab CL 112 is US$449, so it's 30% cheaper, and more feature packed, than Fender's FR-12.

Hell, even the 200W 2x12" is cheaper than a FR-12. Looks like a great product.

No digital. No conversion. No additional latency. Just a great solid cab, a lot of power, good connectivity.

Um... it is? On paper at least, it looks like a much more complete product than Fender's line.

(real) Power is about the same for both as well.
