Yeah, it was fine, just didn't really do much for me.

After the Catalyst and a bunch of Katanas, not too interested in the cheapo SS modeling amps anymore.

It works great! I have my Stomp XL into the return on Poweramp setting on my Cat 200 at our practice space. I'm set up front-right of our drummer and everyone can hear me just fine

With these amps I think the phrase “for the money” is important. At $200, and being realistic about what $200 can get you, the amp is amazing for the money.

Yeah for $200 it’s a great deal. I have one that I bought for my shop to demo guitars and jams and whatnot and it’s easy to dial up decent tones quickly.

That'd be no good for you as you'd have to find other reasons not to buy it then. So it's better as is.

They do make a 212. It's the Catalyst 200 and I have one. I believe the headphone out is in stereo, but it's really a mono amp and they would not have been able to make the price point work as a beginner's amp adding a lot of stuff only a small percentage would use. I paid around $400 for mine new 2 years ago when they were running a sale.

If you want true stereo, buy 2 Catalyst 100's and the proper gear to set it up and you are on your way. Both have full midi capabilities but the Cat 60 is midi over USB, so you would need an interface if you tired that with the 60's.

I’m not a fan of the Mk1 Catalyst combos and they were heavenly reduced in the UK because the Katana was better.
Then the Mk2 Cats were released and prices dropped even more .
I’ve not heard any of those yet tho so can’t comment .
I do know I’m not changing any of my Katana Mk2 ‘s for newer versions
