Line 6 Helix Stadium

I just had a couple of minutes with Helix Stadium and - as expected - it‘s awesome!

At first, I wasn't sure how much I would like Focus View. But after Eric showed me how to activate it and I played around with it a bit, I was honestly thrilled. No matter which Focus View settings I selected for amps, cabs and effects, everything sounded fantastic and gave a great impression of what each block is capable of. It‘s extremely quick to get great sounds just using Focus View.

I couldn't really judge Agoura because of the headphones, but my first impression was definitely positive.

John Browne played a Stadium during his workshop and he was very enthusiastic about the dynamics.

Conclusion: I want one.
I'm glad you decided to go! I hope you are enjoying your time!

I wish we had hands-on demos of the regular Helix Stadium, even if it's not releasing anytime soon. That's the unit I'm really psyched about.
I think it will be the same thing but just missing a few things? Like the Helix Floor vs LT, same software and everything but just missing buttons, strips and whatever?

Thanks for taking one for the team and heading out there to check it out. Jealousy off the charts right now!

Indeed. I know what i'm getting feature wise, i'm mostly interested about the new view display - and the form factor. The Stadium XL looked quite more compact in those hands-on demos than i was expecting.

Ah, don‘t be jealous. Playing Helix Stadium was great but honestly I felt very, very uncomfortable 95% of the time at the summit. Because of my chronically ill wife I‘m just not used to being around so many people anymore. We haven‘t really been anywhere in the last couple of years and this was pretty much the first time I thought „Fuck it, I‘m going alone then.“. And as soon as I entered the summit I felt overwhelmed by everything. The people, the lack of fresh air, the smell, the noise… But I digress…

Everyone who claims the QC is the best looking modeler out there.., wait until you see Stadium in person. It’ a beauty. And the touchscreen is really responsive.

Ahh I get it now, I assumed it was going to be just like the Floor vs LT and the same screen and whatnot, but I see now I am tarded and they are not the same. I know I will get the XL so I honestly sort of ignore the non xl.

I think it was the Worship Tutorial guys who kept pointing this out as well - "it reacts just like a smartphone" or something.

Thanks for the writeup man!
This is because it has a dedicated GPU. The other units push that onto the DSP unit. I personally think this is part of why the Fractal UI is so basic, they want the DSP focusing on the sounds.

Most modelers these days, including the AxeFX, have a dedicated processor, usually an Arm chip, for handling things like the UI.

The GPU in the Stadium is interesting, but I wonder if that's intended to be used in the future by Proxy, where they'll need the matrix processing you get from a GPU.

That sounds so much better than the tones in the Lettieri video. And nothing against Mark, he is one of my favorite players.

It's hilarious how Paul Hindmarsh plays the exact same riff he did for the Plexi and AC30 sound sample videos. He evidently took some time writing something that showcases each particular model well.

And Jesus H CHrist on a cracker, that SLO 100 model at the end sounded glorious.

A pal is at whatever the fuck Sweetwater’s event is this weekend, and he dialed in a patch on the Stadium. He said the UI is unsurprisingly awesome, and the Agoura amp modeling is really good. As an FM9 owner, he’d say it’s at or slightly better than what Fractal is at now.
He’s strongly considering switching teams. He owns Friedmans Mesas, and other high end shit, so I know he’s not shitting me.
