Line 6 Helix Stadium

Embarassment of riches today with both of these longform videos AND the album stream of the new Revocation. I haven't been able to get a lick of work in from lunch onwards!

I love, love, love everything I'm seeing and hearing, @Digital Igloo, and I'm hoping we're just a few weeks from first shipping. The amount of sonic territory I've heard thus far from the 16 Agoura amps is staggering. REALLY well-picked.
I think we are definitely getting closer to something and maybe the Embargo lifting , that's 3 vids today and a more in Depth
Since they have one floating around in Aussie land I got to think Leon Todd is going to be getting it in his hands shortly my guess is a lot more content will be coming in October

but that Revv Red sounds pretty bloody good

Hot damn we have real Stadium content.

Mark Lettieri plays with such taste and class.

His solo stuff on baritone is badass, cool they had him break it out briefly for this demo.

I loved watching that video, because Mark doesn’t hide what he is thinking. (At least on his face, lol) That SLO patch, watch his face. (Eww) I’d love to see that demoed again, because that seemed to be the weakest thing I saw. Not my favorite SLO tone I’ve ever heard. At one point I wondered if the cab block was on. Haha

Focus mode. Look really cool for effects, maybe not so much for amps. Interpolating effects seems to work maybe a little better than amps, but small sample size. For just swiping to edges for distinct premade tones though, cool.

45 degree cab view isn’t my fav. I like it dead on to get a better feel for exactly where the mics are.

That Plexi (Once Mark sussed out the compressor) :chef

Ya the SLO, 5153 blue and XTC were not my favs out of the gate , but I am sure there will be many more to come , I think the Princess and Essex, sound great I also dug the Revv Red as well by the same token ,I hear the potential in the tone in the Dweez video but his tones are not my cup of tea

The prior SLO demo sounded a lot better for sure.

Full disclosure, I agree that the SLO/Arena Rock preset didn't sound good with Lettieri, but there seemed to be some lag between the video showing Ben's hand swiping through focus zones and the sounds we heard

I appreciate Paul Hindmarsh's SLO clip that was basically Temu "Jamie's Cryin'", but I want to hear the Agoura SLO demoed like this:

THAT is what I call arena rock.

We really should get Dweezil to hang in here, he'd fit right in

That insane preset he built, which sounded great but has basically no real word applicability, is the kind of stuff we live for!

I have seen Dweezil live 3 or 4 times and he always sounds great. It may sound like it has no real world application when isolated, yes it’s a very weird sound, but in the context of Zappa songs it sounds so cool.

Takeaways:
- I could listen to Lettieri noodle randomly for hours.
- Clean through mid-gain sounded great. So did the effects.
- Higher gain sounds did not make a good impression in that demo. No conclusion can be drawn from such a small, off the cuff sample though.

I will agree with this , so far the clean and EOB the Fenders and Vox has been really solid , agreed that vid did not help the high gain guys and you can see from the comments on the Youtube the bashing doth commence :facepalm

I thought the REVV patch and its scenes were great. I know from the HX versions that the other amps can sound waaaaay better.

Also, the Marshalls sounded great in both vids to me

Didnt realise you could custom create your own Hype parameters, thats a massive creative tool that the other modellers dont have. Depending how deep you can go with things blending multiple fx to get chase bliss level of weirdness will be cool.

I hate that Zappa tone.

But that isn't Helix's fault.

It is Zappa's.
Gotta say, that shoot positively terrified me, and you can totally tell.

"Hey Eric, this is Dweezil, a legendary guitarist and son of another legend. He and his engineers have been dialing in his Axe FX III for years with this one very particular triple parallel preset for his unique guitar with a blended piezo and he's just seeing Stadium for the first time and we're going to nail that exact preset and here we go aaaand... action!"

Uh... say what now?

You can't; Hype is baked into each Agoura amp. You will be able to create your own focus zones in the future (with various amounts of Hype), but not right now.

I’d say you and the Stadium handled it really well, you proved that it can do what Dweezil needs it to do and you did it quickly. But yeah I could see the deer in the headlights look when he started asking you to dial in the dynaflanger :rofl You did good

And I love his dynaflange sound, it’s unique and sounds awesome live

That SLO sounds amazing. Zack’s playing is amazing. But don’t fool yourself into believing that that is how the amp sounds, straight off the mic into a DAW. Zack went through his desk process in a video. He uses soothers and other plugins to make his videos sound absolutely incredible.

Skipped through the video with Lettieri. Soundwise, it didn't bring much to my table that I didn't kinda knew already (sounds great, couldn't care less about metal chugging, and even if so, I kinda like more midrangey sounds anyway, so what I heard was fine).
The editing however looks as great as I imagined, that's been the biggest takeway of this and the Zappa video.
So yes, this is causing some itiching for sure. We'll see next year.

I didn’t pull much more away from the video than reinforcing how bad I want to audition these tones myself. TBH I don’t think Ben Adrian is much of a high gain player so when they tilted towards the gainier tones he seemed a little lost to me? Like he legit seemed unable to get the brown sound out of that Plexi which KINDA seems like something you should have locked and loaded going into an hour long demo video or your new amp modeling platform?

In either event the thing that’s exciting me with the gain is a consistently “chewier” quality I’m hearing in the midrange with some bloom when notes and chords sustain. That seems head and shoulders outside the capabilities of current helix. Dialing the knobs, cabs, and mic differently is easy.
