Line 6 Helix Stadium

Feel ya on that. Every couple years I buy a looper and think “This is the time, I’m going to be a loop master” and then two weeks later it’s the first pedal to go so I can fit a 7th chorus pedal on my board. :ROFLMAO:

I did use the freeze function occasionally on the QC, but not enough to be a wizard like some are with those effects.

The Stadium will be the catalyst for change. ;)

I periodically go through that same phase, and at about the same frequency. Only difference being that I want to get one of those full-sized BOSS loop stations and really dig into it. But then I realize that the level of motivation required to really learn the platform is just more than I have the energy for.

It’s weird because I get drawn to the one button loopers (Simple) then immediately get trapped in the vortex of…

“long press vs double tap, fuck I started an overdub instead of deleting the last loop, how the hell can I get out of this loop, think I did it, press to start a new loop, shit it’s playing the last loop, how did it save that, now how do I kill it, did it, fuck I tapped out of time, kill it, tap to start a new loop, fuck, it’s playing the out of time loop”

I actually think one of those loop stations might be easier/funner since everything is clearly mapped out, but I’m not brave enough to try. :ROFLMAO:

I have this fantasy of having a BOSS RC-600 with a quad of FRFR’s, FM9T, BOSS VG-800 and GM-800, and just having this massive rig of looping madness.

Then I remember both the cost and skill required to run that, and………

And your motivation is crushed just like mine. I don't have the time to take on another rabbit hole anyway, I already have too many sticks in the fire to try to add one more.

Seriously, where are you finding these "codes" and what are they. I just called MF and they tell me there is NO discount available on pre-orders. How are you able to get a discount to apply to the Helix Stadium??

I dunno what to tell you about what the rep said. These codes are unique and distributed via email, and they 100% work on the Stadium and XL. My SW rep even matched this.

Nice! I haven't received any emails on the Helix Stadium. I am on their email list but they send me offers on other items. I must be doing something wrong. :idk

You have to go to musiciansfriend’s website and sign up to receive promotions and marketing crap, then every once in a while they email you a unique 10-15% off coupon.

There are a lot of good, full-featured looping options on iPad, if you want to dig in without spending much money (and if you have an iPad.) Some are even deeper than e.g. the Boss Loopstation, and they generally provide better visual feedback. Initial configuration can be a bit of a nightmare though, between setting up audio routing and MIDI PC/CC control. I get halfway into it every few years, and then walk away just long enough to not understand why it's all magically broken again, and repeat. How's my sales pitch? :D

Video is great and a great feature but that crunch tone used in the first ~8 seconds is such a classic home-base tone ..... yep ..... clean and crunchy and midrange'y and defined all at the same time .... just glorious ™
I would not be upset in the least if that one showed up as a preset.

That’s a crazy good deal

I got the same percentage off for the XL. My Sweetwater guy matched the MF coupons that were going around shortly after the big Line 6 announcement.
My SW rep wasn't willing to do any discount. I cancelled there and just pre-ordered from Musician's Friend at a 15% discount. A kindly forum member here gave me a code he wasn't going to use. :rawk :headbang
