Line 6 Helix Stadium

Whoa. For a product most commonly found on the floor, that's a disaster waiting to happen. No way would it pass a drive-a-car-over-it test, even at the lowest/most flush setting.

Oh, there are most definitely "taxes" included in the US prices.
/ducks
So how much are the t#%*#f taxes adding to the overall price? Guessing 20% or more.

Has Line 6 made a decision on releasing sooner or later?

It depends on which country you’re in. Contact the retailer you plan on ordering through and they’ll let you know.

Are we there yet?

Date pulled straight from my ass.

Seriously though I’m so excited and cannot wait.

I’ve been in a guitar playing slump for a while. Having a new toy to learn, explore, and play with is exactly what I need right now.

Or, dare I say, “soon!”

Feel ya 🤜

I had a playing lull myself and have been slowly ramping back up. I’ve never gone down the Line 6 rabbit hole (Owned a DL4 and HXFX briefly) so I’m using this as a jump off point to see what’s cracking in their ecosystem.

Watching that Steph Carpenter rundown where he is using the OG Helix with his amp setup got me jazzed up too, with all the integration options.

This should be fun. (y)

It'll be a difficult price point to swallow, but I'm totally game. Ideally I'd have the Stadium and my Axe III side-by-side for a few months in order to compare the amp modelling and workflow, and then make a decision on which one I keep. My gut feeling is the Stadium will win.

It's not that I think they wont be worth the money. It's just annoyance that I'd need to move on things I don't want to sell in order to pay that kind of cash. If I want one I'll have to be patient and pick up a used one. It's the same reason I've never bought an axe fx iii, it's just too much cash for me these days. I sold off too much of my gear to move my family back to N Ireland.

I thought I was done with modelling tbh but the hype, excitement and workflow have conspired to pull me back in.

His rig rundown is awesome, especially since he's keeping the Helix as a centerpiece even though he's pivoted back to tube amps. Great sounds all around.

Dude, watching him play the Leathers opening ambient drone, then into full flamethrower chunk mode, with the drone still playing seamlessly in the back, had me all kinds of fist pumping. :ROFLMAO:

Day 1 Helix Stadium checklist:
Figure that shit out!

His "always use stock presets" mentality makes a ton of sense!

Well, it did. Stadium is moving to a cloud-based ecosystem, so your stuff is always there. QC has been there. Just how everything's heading really.

It'll probably apply to Stadium more on a micro level with the five Focus View zones. I love that you'll always have five distinct touchpoints representing the full range of an amp or a pedal always there for recall.

He 100% got baked and wiped out a bunch of old album presets. :ROFLMAO:

But I feel that. On some devices, like the H90, I spend about 80% of my time on stock presets, just adjusting mix levels and decays etc. I have a handful of home brew presets I love, but the cool thing about stock presets is you kind of write to the preset vs building the same patch you build on every device.

Honestly, I've said it before, but nothing really comes close to the Helix when it comes to have it at the centre of a rig, using it to do a bunch of audio processing tasks as well as a bunch of rig control tasks. Everything else pales in comparison. Axe FX III is leagues behind. So is the Quad Cortex. Kemper doesn't play nicely in large rigs full stop. Helix really is the dogs kahuna burger.

Hook a brother up with the link if it’s not too much trouble.

I really have to spend more time with looping and freeze effects. I'm constantly wishing for a second guitarist, telling myself I could use a looper, and never getting around to setting things up and practicing the changes until they're reliable.

Feel ya on that. Every couple years I buy a looper and think “This is the time, I’m going to be a loop master” and then two weeks later it’s the first pedal to go so I can fit a 7th chorus pedal on my board. :ROFLMAO:

I did use the freeze function occasionally on the QC, but not enough to be a wizard like some are with those effects.

The Stadium will be the catalyst for change. ;)
