If such a thing is even possible, it would be interesting to learn if knowledge from Agoura’s new tooling has trickled into any of the harder to pull off fuzz and drive effects. Fuzz is definitely one of those areas where modeling seems to show its edges, and one of the areas I poke at when each new gen platform comes around. Helix fuzzes were significantly better than the previous generation.

Yeah, I really like a few of the fuzzes in HX. The FF is decent, although I find it compresses a bit too easy and lacks some headroom compared to a real one. The Wringer is probably my overall favorite in HX.

The double helix is the shape DNA takes and it houses the software that runs all life on earth. You got this new powerful software modeling system, it could have been a nod to that.

I truly don't care what they call it. They could call it the Helix Turd and I'd still buy it if it did the things I want it to do. This being said, Double Helix would've been a slam dunk for anyone with any sort of science background.

Thanks for inviting us into the pain of that process. Insightful. I’m just going to point and call it “The Unit” from here on out.

I wasn’t trying to critique the name. I just thought maybe there was something that drove the decision other than it being the least dumb sounding option.

Agreed In a recoding their going to do it for sure
They will cut the low flub and surgicallly cut some of the higher frequencies

It's surprising how raw some tones can be if they're dialled in right from the beginning. It just depends, but ALWAYS doing some form of processing is essentially assuming you aren't even listening to the tone or thinking about how the specific part relates to the bigger picture.

Producers are cutting low end for sure on guitars
Depending on genre I mean doom maybe not but most hard rock recording you hear have had the low end of the guitar cut the flub
