Line 6 Helix Stadium

Double helix was best name it could have been. Stadium is rather generic and cheesy and unpro to me.
All this talk of ground up and redoing everything like it’s a new modeling experience yet why is all the old helix stuff in there? I don’t understand why you guys just didn’t revamp at all and then release it with the revamp stuff in it even if it would’ve taken another six months or eight monthsI still think that would be a better idea because I believe that digital igloo said there’s no way to get rid of all the old helix stuff once the thing is loaded with all the new agora amps and effects

You think it'll take them just eight more months to Agoura-fy another 65-70 amp channels? And create all-new algorithmic reverbs from the ground up?

What about the models of real-world pedals that wouldn't use Agoura at all? Delete them from the unit or just remodel them just to say they did?

You're entitled to your opinion on the name as anyone is, but launching a flagship with no legacy content when you have a wealth of it seems short-sighted. Fractal didn't even do it with the Axe-FX III.

How does that help?

I mean it's not a phone with apps.

Remember the Axe-Fx III launch? It basically was the souped up Axe-Fx II with updated I/O and UI. They didn't throw away FX (that doesn't even make sense to me).

This whole approach seems to be very much like the GT 1000 was for Roland where they released it with all their old amps but they threw a few X amps in there
And I remember having the GT 1000 for about six months and loving the X amps but not the regular amps so much so I sold it because I was hoping they would release a new unit with all the amps which are the upgraded amps in the unit

Except that the X amps are non-descript originals which Line 6 will continue to do, while they're updating many of the real-world amps because they own them and they're right there. How many models of real amps did BOSS update again?

There are 16 Agoura guitar amps at launch. Has BOSS even reached 16 X guitar amps since launching the GT-1000 seven years ago?

"Double Helix" is way more goofy, dumb, generic, cheesy, and un-pro than "Stadium." See how this works? Everyone shut up now.

Yeah, I have a FM9. Some combos are bad. Some produce very little difference. But I have found a couple that are more than a little bit magic. Especially with the power amp alternatives.
The thing is even in the Fractal if you want to emulate a real world tube change there a lot more things that need to change
Bias , cut off frequency
lo hi impedance so unless you know which parameters need to change w each tube in that specific circuit it’s not really a virtual tube swap
Even Cliff has said that he does not want to automate that because it will really screw up people’s presets

I think a context-specific implementation makes the most sense, especially with Line 6's approach with making Stadium a quintessential learning and practice tool.

So it doesn't make sense to let people give, say, big iron KT88 power tubes to the Grammatico LaGrange. But 100w amps should maybe be switchable between generic EL34, 6L6 and KT88 power sections in addition to the actual power section they modeled.

Those generic power amps should also be a distinct block for when the flood of Proxy preamps enter the picture.
