Line 6 Helix Stadium

There are two Stomp modes—A and B, each one with 10 assignable switches. And if you set Control A, B, C, and D to be footswitch ins, you get a total of 24 stomps per preset: 10+10+4. Snapshots are currently still 8 per preset.
I must’ve left my brain at the beach but what does Control A-D mean?

You've peaked, 2025 mockup awards can be dished out now

I'm not sure if I understood that correctly, but I think they said there would be like twice virtual footswitches. If anyone actually got that, I'd like to know if they meant we could have 16 stomps or 16 snapshots divided in 2 pages.

That'd be great for the kitchen sink preset lovers. I also always wanted a 10 snapshot mode. Or 5snaps/5stomps. That would've made my switching life a whole lot easier.

100 pages now and still no audio samples of the new modeling.

Pretty funny. I do honestly think at this point sound clips are useless. I understand why people want them but I also understand why line 6 isn’t giving them to us yet. There will be plenty of sound clips available in a few months for the bedroom tone experts to criticize, but at least then people will have access to the stadium so that it can defend itself so to speak. Why give people a chance to start crapping on it before it’s even out, based on some over compressed youtube video played back through an iPhone speaker?

A couple of questions for @Digital Igloo:

-What's the maximum number of tracks you can have in Showcase?
-Is there a technical reason not to use combo jack+XLR sockets for both outputs, so both are balanced? Or are the jack outputs balanced too?

I'm asking this because I'm trying to figure out how to use Showcase for having backing tracks and a click track that only the band would hear. I'm guessing I would send the click track alone to one output and my guitar and the backing tracks to another, and then in the mixer do the routing. But I wonder if I should get a DI box for the jack outputs to avoid signal loss in certain gigs.

OTOH, not sure if I would be able to send the click track through one of the sends, so I have one output for my guitar (for monitoring) and the XLR output for my guitar+the backing tracks.

There isn't a combo jack for outputs.

To use the XLR combo jack for outputs, you'd need to only use male plug cables on both ends of the XLR cable. Which makes the standard XLR cable a non-option.

Fwiw, re: Clips

Just as pretty much anyone else, I absolutely like to hear some stuff. But in this very case, pretty much anything else related to the release is much, much more relevant to me.
I mean, while I'm still wondering about some details, while I still (or already) think that certain things possibly could've been done differently (but I won't judge about any of these until there's more information), for me it's still absolutely stunning just how much Line 6 apparently raised the bar regarding all things usability. It's by *far* the most appealing thing with these new units until now. Even so much that I'd say, even if it was only these improvements alone, it'd justify the higher price (or trading any older unit in favour of a Stadium).

So, for me clips (or ideally: first hand experience) almost would be just the icing on the cake (a very welcomed icing, though).

The most convincing demo is playing the model and real amp while switching between them with an A/B box volume matched with the same output acoustic system, but for than one needs to travel to Calabasas.

The accuracy of the models grow with the experience, knowledge and understanding of the person that models this gear and the capabilities of the software tools he uses to reproduce their behavior.
In other words, if something happens to Ben, Sam, Igor or Cliff, the advancement of component based modeling accuracy will be severly hindered for a few years.
