Line 6 Helix Stadium

Yeah, my immediate reaction was "so, the new AxeFX is a Game Gear? that's not really a compliment"

Pretty psyched to see what Fractal has coming thou!
Same, maybe it’ll be my first FAS device! I’ve never had the money for them and at this point I don’t want to buy one ESPECIALLY just having read his comment. I’ll wait and enjoy the stadium until then! Gotta move my QC before December lol

I have a FM9 Turbo that I got a couple of years ago. The thing that kept me away from Helix then was the abundance of legacy amps and FX.
When Cliff makes an advancement in measuring components or updates the modelling engine, it updates all amps. When L6 came out with the 2203 (which sounds really good from the clips I heard) it pretty much left all their other Marshall style amps in the dust (IMO) . Hopefully L6's new modelling engine will follow this path. I can't imagine myself with one of these for the foreseeable future. The scary thing about Fractal is the whole thing teeters on the health and age of one man. The whole thing could come to a screeching halt without warning. I hope this is a home run for L6. They are good at pushing the envelope in new/original ways.

I don't think Fractal will feel too much pressure to make a move any time soon. And if they did, I'm not sure they want to go in the same direction as Line6.
I think the differentiation will be the key, in fact. Companies doing "us too" will get curb stomped. Fractal offers an unmatched selection of amp/cabinet/effect sounds that are all top notch quality. Even if caught on quality, they still have massive breadth. And while the on-device interface impresses nobody, it's also largely out of the way, and the editor is spectacular. There are a lot of players for whom that's the perfect product.

There's lots of existing stuff in Fractal that could be improved by updated hardware beyond the obvious one of being able to run more complicated modeling algorithms. More space for songs/setlists/dynacabs is the first thing that springs to mind.

I have preorders now for both Stadium and Stadium XL. :bag Keeping my options open for scribble strips. :ROFLMAO:

Regarding the FAS implications. They will never sell as many units as L6 or go feature for feature with them or a variety of other companies, but they are going to hand you your ass with great tones. That’s their thing. Let them run their race. We just need a wireless tablet editor and a plugin player in the Fractosphere.

Are we still calling the Kemper “new”. It’s a facelift and firmware update.
I don't know that we were EVER calling it new. It doesn't even really deserve "Turbo" IMO since the DSP wasn't changed. It is a faster booting version of MK1. Perhaps "Kemper Super Boot" would have been a better name ;).

Line 6 has certainly taken the lead with respect to the "new" gizmo tagline.

I doubt it will take the flexibility crown from Fractal though.... or the touring rig title from Kemper.

+1000

There's no reason why either company should kneecap the other. Different sales models, different strategic goals, and decades of peaceful co-existence. If anything, it's healthy competition that keeps spurring the other to step their game up.

Another contender for Kemper MK2 is coming!

"It will make all these other products look like a Game Boy."

uh!

Not sure processing power was really a bottleneck on current gen Fractal, besides maybe with more CPU some usability hoops you’re forced to jump through can be lifted.

I’d also say, I hope by comparison to current Fractal devices, using the next gen is more like using a Gameboy than a super computer.
Yes it is worrying that his description of the upcoming product (a supercomputer compared to blah blah blah) could just as well describe the current line of AxeFX as the next one. It could also describe my phone. :idk
