Line 6 Helix Stadium

Guess we'll need to wait until the 25th (or actual release date) for that. The current page is mostly a flashy placeholder, with no more information than we got from the announcement party.
That doesn't excuse its design. These "scroll and stuff animates" websites just suck. They tend to be janky and often really bad at giving you any real information. Instead they just annoy you until you find e.g tech specs or some feature page that gives you the real info.

But for instance show my The Agoura XTC red sound like this and my ears will perk up

can’t you get close with the current XTC model?

EDIT: The Helix XTC Red Channel sounds a bit fucked/broken to me. It makes a ton of noise unless you crank the bias up, and it sounds blown out/incorrect at normal settings IMO.

Look at the output meters with absolutely no input at all. There's a load of noise being generated by the amp that is related to the bias setting

Thinking about it, I've always disliked the term "scribble strips" (they generally contain typed text, so I call them labels, like DYMO labels), and my eyes aren't great at reading from that distance, so I'm pretty sure I'm not going to miss them.

I can totally see why people would want them. They don't matter much for how I play. The TMP has to have them in order to label the encoder switches. But I could probably use colors on my FM9 and obviate the need for them there, and I'm sure that's how it'll work for me on the Stadium.
IMHO, if the content/ layout on the main screen is properly leveraged, scribble strips are typically redundant. I don't need 9x televisions on a device that's smaller than a breadbox (mixing metaphors and dating myself twice in the process LOL.) It just seems a little over the top.

I do wish the smaller Stadium had the full array of I/O, but it is what it is, I guess. Only so much volume (as in cubic cm) and budget to go around.

This is pure speculation, but when Line6 says "signal chain cloning" with Proxy, are we talking about feeding the engine a signal chain in another unit or a recording and having it duplicate that in Helix? Because holy crap. I could see using AI to do something like that.

The rest of the market realizing nobody is buying another modeler until this fall.

That's just magic tone static don't worry about it.

I don't think Fractal will be hurting. The XL is still about $400 more than an FM9 plus expression. And some will prefer the Fractal amp and effects modeling. I don't think Fractal will feel too much pressure to make a move any time soon. And if they did, I'm not sure they want to go in the same direction as Line6.

Back when Helix was released, despite all the talk of it being a "Fractal killer", Line6 was always quick to say that was never their goal. But after a few years of delivery and improvements folks started weighing which platform to buy if they could only have one. With this new release they have thrown down the gauntlet, not just to Fractal, but to seemingly all the competition. I am super excited for what this is going to bring from the rest of the market. They're not going to "kill" any of the others. If anything, this is where others will step up.

Preach on. They also need to make better presets. Make them useful. I hate when every preset is a caricature. “Here’s a high gain amp SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS *no mids or bass *”
And “Here’s a delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay… delay”
One of my Fav comparisons they did IMO was the Igor
Badonk vs Gojira plug in
He did it in a mix and then isolated tracks switching back and forth like every 2 seconds
It was a fair test well done and proved the point
And of course with Igor’s personality and attitude much more fun that watching Leo running latency and Null tests IMO

The presets in recent firmware updates are actually really great starting points. They have a preset for most of the amp models that are mainly just the amp with a few pedals like delay, od, compression disabled but assigned to switches so you can toggle them on like a typical pedal board. I hope they use the same approach for the first bank of presets on the Stadium.
